Room 14 was dirty and shabby broken windows dirty shower and carpet offered upgrade or round of drinks Took upgrade but at dinner made to feel uncomfortable by waiter Mike for doing so his attitude was appalling Assistant manager apologised but was very condescending Do your research before booking as we were very disappointed Hopefully Manager is made aware but still left us feeling disheartened as we had visited 3 weeks ago and wanted the same experience Guests should be made aware of rooms that are below par and not charged at full price We have emails from receptionist saying she agreed with us Also as work going on in hotel tiles were stacked in hallway not what they advertise as a nice get away

Birthday treat for my elderly mum. We had never been before & I booked an overnight stay, a spring deal of B&B + 3 course dinner & a cream tea. Excellent value, nothing too much trouble & staff very polite, attentive & smartly dressed. Sat in the conservatory on arriving, overlooking the beautiful gardens. Entertained before dinner with escaped sheep in the grounds from a nearby farm! Food excellent both dinner & breakfast, good choice & cooked to order. Liked the staggered times for dining, seated @ 15min intervals which worked well. We stayed in room 5 (twin superior room), spotlessly clean. Beautiful bathroom with walk in shower & roll top bath & comfy beds. A very relaxing, luxurious break in a beautiful hotel & can highly recommend. I have booked again for later in the year so I think that says it all!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon in May. We had a wonderful stay in this hidden gem of a hotel, on a dinner bed and breakfast rate. The main building itself is very impressive, in an excellent location only 10 minutes or so from Scarborough sea front. We were shown to our room in the carriage house. We stayed in room 36, it was wonderfully spacious, the decor was in keeping with the surroundings, and it was immaculate. There are plenty of places to sit for a drink or to read for example, and I don't think I sat in an uncomfortable chair for the duration of our stay! The terrace is lovely, with a small porch area that was nice when the breeze was too cold. The conservatory has a wide view of the gardens and again was a lovely seating area for a drink after dinner. We stayed for 5 nights, and ate at the hotel every night. Every meal was thoroughly enjoyable, and there was a good choice every evening. We were also spoiled for choice at breakfast, with options such as kippers, eggs benedict, eggs royale and haddock drawing us away from the usual full English. Throughout the whole stay the staff were amazing, very attentive and accommodating. Upon checking out, we booked again next year for our first anniversary! We would recommend this place to anyone, and we look forward to returning.

An excellent hotel with professional friendly staff in a superb quiet leafy location on the outskirts of Scarborough. The food is delicious and a good selection of drinks are offered. It is in a very good location for many attractions in this great area of England.

We have just returned from our 5th visit here, our second this year. It is a wonderful place to stay with professional and attentive staff, for which nothing is too much trouble. The different rooms we have stayed in have all been beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Food and wine are excellent. It is in a peaceful location, but there is easy access to the coast, various walking routes and other attractions. Already planning our next visit.

We’ve had a lovely stay at Wrea Head Hall . We did the dinner bed breakfast cream tea offer staying in the Rowntree suite room 22 . The hotel is beautiful the room was as stunning as our last stay ,staff are very attentive nothing is too much trouble the food was really fabulous . One of my favourite hotels ,the gardens are beautifully landscaped and the whole property is an absolute credit to the owners . A privately owned hotel that gives special attention to detail that makes guests feel like friends . A short walk to the pub and with easy access to to Whitby and all those lovely little fishing villages. We will definitely be back .

From check in to check out everything was perfect, we had a very warm welcome when we arrived and checked in very smoothly, we decided to book a table for our evening meal as that option was made available to us, our room, number 8 was an amazing room, it was huge, with a massive shower and bath to die for, the bed was equally as big and so comfortable. I usually drop a mark if the showers aren’t very good but this one was amazing, very powerful jets of water, was bliss. The grounds are huge and was a nice walk around before we went to the village for a beer, the food on an evening was superb, and I couldn’t fault it at all, we had the bed and breakfast option and the breakfast choices on offer were top draw, fruits, yoghurts cereals to full English, the only downside to the stay was that we had to leave, all the staff are a credit to the hotel, and are all very friendly and professional, hope to stay again in the future.

Just spent a fantastic few days at this beautiful hotel. The buildings and the grounds are absolutely amazing. We stayed in room 43 in the carriage house. It was so quiet, really peaceful with it's own entrance and a smaller car park. The room itself was very well decorated and the bed very comfortable. There was bottled water and tea and coffee making facilities included. The food in the restaurant was really good, a varied menu but as we were there for 3 nights I would have preferred it to change slightly every day. If it's available I would recommend the deconstructed beef wellington. It was absolutely amazing. The wine list is extensive and no more expensive than other hotels or good restaurants. The staff are also a big plus for the hotel, they should all be very proud of themselves. Nothing was too much trouble, they were all happy and seemed like they actually liked coming to work! I'd like to give a special mention to Grace on reception, she was a ray of sunshine. The hotel definitely needs to make sure it keeps her! As a first impression she was fantastic. We will definitely be back.
