Travelodge Newport Central

After a horrible Airbnb experience, booked the local travelodge, it was clean, reliable and everything I need for the last days of my visit. The workers were so helpful. Easy to approach and swiftly assisted customers. Shout out to Yassine for the helpful support when I was in need.

As a visiting supervisor from another property, I’ve taken time to review the housekeeping standards during my stay. I’d like to raise a few concerns which could pose a significant risk in the event of a daily audit. Firstly, I observed several small hairs both in the bath area and on the toilet roll, indicating a lack of attention to detail during cleaning. Additionally, the chrome fixtures were not properly polished, which further detracts from the room’s overall presentation. More critically, I noticed that the housekeeper working in the corridor was not using a door stop or blocker. This is not only a safety concern but also a breach of operational standards. If a daily audit had been conducted on the day of check-out, these issues would likely have resulted in a failed inspection, potentially impacting guest satisfaction scores and audit compliance ratings. These are all preventable issues with proper training, supervision, and adherence to protocol. I recommend addressing them promptly to ensure standards are consistently met and audit risks are minimized.

The Travelodge is very conveniently located opposite the train station. The staff made me feel really welcome and where happy to assign me a room that met my requests without seeming annoyed by me asking for a certain room. As in all Travelodge hotels the bed was super comfy, the room looked stylish and had everything I needed. I liked the big window. The Travelodge felt a homely and safe place to stay and it totally met my expectations.

Just want to give a shoot out the reception lady, who was lovely and very helpful. Hotel is in a great location right in the centre of the town. Would 100% stay her again! Room was a good size and clean. Only thing I will say no plugs next to bed only usb.

Had a 1 night stay after the england/wales rugby match, great location, clean room, friendly staff, Debbie was especially helpful and friendly and available to ask any questions, would definitely recommend and return for a short stay ! 😊

Reception staff pleasant & helpful. Very easy check in. Room as expected - clean, towels nicely presented, bed comfortable as usual & a good night's sleep had. All electrical items used worked. Quiet hotel - inside & outside. Ideal place in Central Newport for a one night stop, good price & great service.
