Balavil Hotel

Homely Well Run hotel, excellent food, terrific staff. The team led by James, including Isla, David, Mark, and young Logan were very professional and friendly. The room whilst small, was more than adequate, and it had a new walk in shower in the en-suite.We had a great time, and I would definitely recommend this wee hotel.

Staff were exceptional very friendly and inviting. The rooms were very nice clean and comfortable and the food was outstanding evening meal and breakfast everything was reasonably priced the deep fried Brie was one of the best thing I’ve ever tasted so compliments to the chef. I can’t recommend this place enough.

What a genuinely wonderful experience! The family/team at Balavil is the perfect example of what a hotel stay should be - they were kind, gracious, welcoming, and helpful. We immediately felt comfortable at the hotel and continued to throughout our stay. I wish all hotels would have staff like theirs! We stayed two nights and dined at the restaurant for both of them. The food was excellent - fresh, home cooked, and delicious. Their daily specials were wonderful and really exemplified the local vibe and foods. Breakfast was a great selection of buffet items and the staff were even kind enough to offer to cook me vegetarian sausages, as I can't eat meat. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel and the family that runs it. Newtownmore was a perfect stop between Edinburgh and Isle of Skye and really gave us a few days to comfortably enjoy the Highlands without the hustle of the cities. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and area.

Good destination point, nice rooms. Good Food at the Bar Menue/ Restaurant and most important most friendly staff I met. James runs the Hotel with perfection and Islay is the Queen at the bar. Thank you so much to the rest of the staff too!! I will be back next year.

Went with a coach party.Found the checkin service very effecient and your cases were taken to the room We were at the front of the hotel room was comfortable but slightly dated. although there were signs that sone work had started ie new carpet and wardrobe It did need a blind in the bathroom and somewhere to hang your clothes when showering.There was no blind in the bedroom which was a bit off putting having to keep drawing the curtains when changing making the room very dark even with the lights on.Downstairs was very nice a large spacious dining room good choice of food for the evening meal well cooked and presented very very efficient staff pleasant always smiling the best I have seen outside London they were well trained.There was a very well stocked bar good variety of Gin and Whiskey and for two nights we had some outstanding entertainment. Breakfast was very nice buffet style hot food and continental cold just could have done with a selection of meats/cheeses for the overseas guests tea/coffee and toast were served to you There was nothing you could complain about this hotel.Goodd old fashioned service where the customer is valued and appreciated.Would highly recommend

James the manager and his team run an efficient hotel and were warm and welcoming - so lovely to see the young members of the team enthusiastic and smiles on their faces - fantastic service all round. We ate here both evenings and we have to say the food and breakfast were excellent- you really do not need to find anywhere else to eat the food is great. Rooms were clean and comfortable we will definitely use this hotel again if we are in the area.
