Three generations of parents and children (child 10 years old) stayed here for one night in mid-May. The conditions for this Nikko trip were to have a private open-air bath, a private bathroom in the guest room, and a relaxing Japanese-style room. The bedding in the room felt new and I was able to sleep comfortably, and the unit bath was also clean. The Toshogu area is not far away and can be reached on foot or by bus. When I used it, there were only two other guests. I was able to relax and enjoy the bath without meeting anyone in the public bath. Dinner and breakfast were also served in a private dining room, so you could relax. Two adult women were full from the local Kaiseki meal with beer. The handmade tofu and yuba were delicious. Honestly speaking, I wish they would add one item for children to the children's menu instead of removing a few items from the adult menu. There was a group of elementary school students on a school trip, but the dining and bathing areas were separate. The staff at the inn often worried about this, but it didn't bother us at all. We received warm hospitality during our stay.
