This is one of the best experiences I ever had in a Onsen hotel! The dinner is a must try. As we arrived in the place, we got into the cultural and historical atmosphere immediately. Walking to the dinner venue via the wooden bridge feels like entering another world. The dishes are delicious and follow seasonal menu using local ingredients.

Poor services. No help with luggage’s despite have many stairs in the hotel. The staff seemed uninterested in offering services. Much worse than most onsen hotels in Japan. Best avoid.

I stayed here with my family, remembering my stay when I was in elementary school. We enjoyed the history, the hot springs, and the meals around the hearth.

The hotel environment is very good. The hygiene is clean. The room is tidy. The service is also warm and considerate. There will be a drum welcome ceremony. There is also a free water bar in the lobby. You can drink tea and enjoy the scenery. The dinner restaurant needs to pass through the suspension bridge. The dinner is also unique. The hot spring water quality is also good. There are soup flowers. It is very comfortable to soak in.

I was a little worried at first that the facilities in such an old hotel might be too old.
It turned out to be surprisingly good. Although it was made of wood, it had a very safe texture. This was my favorite hotel during the entire trip. I would choose to stay a few more days next time.

Dinner was delicious, with plenty of mochi and fish roasted over the hearth! There was also an open-air bath, and the scenery was beautiful, so it was a great trip.
It's the perfect place to enjoy the good old days!

Except for the inconvenient transportation, the whole check-in process was still very pleasant. The ritual of beating gongs and drums during check-in was not very adaptable. If you can, I would recommend staying for two nights.

The hospitality of the staff was underrated! They greeted to us once our car entered the hotel. The staff helped us to move our luggages, which were very heavy, to our room directly. The hotel is ancient yet very warming. I really love every little things that marks the age. There's a bridge connecting the hotel and the dining restaurant. The food in the restaurant was super delicious. The view outside the hotel was stunning especially with red leaves during autumn. Overall, I love the experience so much! I really miss the people there!
