The waterpark is awesome. There are 5 slides. The slides have a great system, for a lot of them you need floaties and instead of everyone waiting in selfmade chaotic queues they set up little organized queue lines. Every slide has it's own colour floaty. It's very nice. There are enough changing rooms and showers and the little snack corner is fine and decently priced. There's one deep pool, 2 bubble baths and another pool and a kid pool. I love it. The houses itself are a bit expensive but they are clean and nice, they're nothing special to be honest.

On Wednesday we looked up the price for een weekend to spend with our familiy and roday Friday I want to book it, is this price increased with 100 Euro. And this is for a weekend somewhere in Jan'25. I even have proof of the price we got last Wednesday. I would expect some customer service when it comes to giving us the "Wedneday" price but instead I was told that if it would have been the other way around, I would not have called. I have also learned the customer is king....apparently here it is not. I want to report this but could not find an email adress only a regular postcard addres to report. Therefore I use this media to express my disappointment.

Just back from a long weekend at HVS and already can’t wait to return. We loved everything about this place from start to finish. It was our first visit and I thought it was going to be like centre parcs but honestly this place knocks the socks of C parcs! Everything was immaculate. It feels like a wellness retreat when you arrive everything is so well groomed with amazing sculptures everywhere. The swimming pool is amazing I have never been to a pool which is sparkling clean like this one! The water slides are just brilliant and loved by our group of kids ranging from 6-17 years! The soft play area is just the cleanest too. Everything so well organised and unlike C parcs most activities are free and if you pay it’s minimal! All the staff we had the pleasure to meet were wonderful! We can not wait to come back next year!!!!! Only little thing I would suggest is just some hand soap in the house toilets most people do not think to bring for a weekend away but this is minimal.

We have just returned from an amazing visit to Hof Van Saxen. We booked our holiday after reading lots of positive reviews and, even then, were overwhelmed by the quality of the site, cottage and facilities. It truly feels luxurious from the moment you arrive; sculptures and pretty tender gardens line the avenues from the main centre to the cottages. The centre is stunning. It contains several restaurants as well as a spa and swimming pool. Whilst we did not try the restaurants, the food looked great! The swimming pool and slides were unbelievable! 5 thrill rides which are all different and can all be accessed as part of your stay. The queues were minimal even during peak summer! We loved the lake and outdoor beach area. Again it is spotlessly clean and well cared for. You can help yourself to a lounger and relax for the whole day. There's a wonderful play area for the children there too! At the far end of the lake, free of charge paddleboarding, canoeing and raft building takes place (grown ups can definitely try the activities too!). There is an indoor activity area a short walk from the main centre. In this, you can build, sew, bounce and climb. All brilliantly resourced and either very cheap (in the case of the fashion and tech areas) or free (in the case of the bounz area). The cottage we stayed in was incredible. It was recently refurbished and looked beautiful. It was spotlessly clean and so cosy. We loved waking up and seeing the lake view each day; so peaceful. If you decide to visit The Netherlands, I doubt that there is anywhere as brilliant. We will definitely be staying there again!!

We had a great time here, but I was puzzled by many things and probably would not return. Our stand-alone bungalow cost a little bit more than a three-bed lodge at Elveden Center Parcs, and was MUCH nastier. It was very basic indeed, a bit grubby, and very small. There was used clothing from the last guests lying around, making me think no cleaners had even been in. All the doors in the corridor meet in the middle if more than one is open at one time. There is no counter space or mirrors in the bedrooms, and one bed was broken. I tried on many occasions to make spa bookings before I went, and was told I had to call up. This is not too handy for international customers, and when I got there the spa was completely booked up. Oh, ok. It would be great to either make this bookable on the app, or reserve some slots for those that could not easily book ahead. We wanted to do some lake water sports on our last weekend, and water sports were off all weekend, because of 'sickness'. This was disappointing and showed a lack of forethought and commitment to delivering promised services. It was ok to use your own paddleboard, apparently, so it wasn't a matter of health and safety; it was just no one was there to check them in and out. The map on my app didn't work at any point (whatever I clicked on, it told me that was my house – and actually, not every building on site was my house!), and as a poor navigator, I had a lot of trouble finding my way around at first without a working map. You can get a paper one from reception that does the job. Other things you need to know for a smooth time, but that they don't tell you, is that you need a 20 cent piece (!) for the swim lockers, and to take one of your two small towels from your accommodation, as no towels are available at the pool. Having gone to the pool with my two kids I had a really fun time sorting these two things out... The food, however, was uniformly fantastic, and the countryside surrounding the resort is replete with cycle lanes and interesting destinations such as the Hunebedden and Westerbork, which really made our holiday.

Pro - Big village/park all round activities for family with kids, great atmosphere even in bad weather may say still lots of activities to do. - The pool areas have some huge sliders, the kids just love it! - there are like outdoor/ indoor playground, shops, bar, restaurant and parking super close to the house. - Big nice house (we got the 3 bedrooms), clean and pretty much have everything you need. Kitchen, fire place, nice view from the living room. Con - raining day the pool might be crowded but that’s normal.

Another great stay at Hof Van Saksen. This is the fourth time we’ve visited as a family of teenagers and a pre teen. Lots to do for all ages. Relaxing for the parents. All the staff are friendly and their English is excellent. Highly recommend all leisure activities and food outlets.

Our friend summed it up best: “Wow! It feels we’ve been away for a week” after our shared, fun-packed long weekend at Hof van Saksen. After Covid twice kiboshed sooner return visits, it was great for our friends & families to return together after 6 years away. Either I’d forgotten, or the Resort has invested in super-comfortable mattresses - ensuring a really good night’s sleep after action-packed days. The facilities & hospitality are top draws for families - whether domestic, European or Brits like us who enjoy the quality & breadth of choice on offer to all guests. With cars encouraged to use the 3 separate parking zones, the resort roads are safely navigated by a wide range of pedal/ electric-powered bikes, scooters etc Top tips: It’s worth the 1/2hr drive out of resort to discover the Medieval star-shape fortified Medieval village at Bourtange. For adrenaline junkies, just 20 minutes away is the new DX Adventure park’s water jumps & inflatable acquapark Back on Resort, it’s great to see more new water slides going in, although the main water slides & lazy river remain firm family favourites. Bottom line: less expensive than any UK Center Parks resort - Hof van Saksen remains great value, fab fun and well worth travelling to & exploring from!

Amazing place to stay for families. The bungalows are very well equipped and comfortable, just try to stay close to the main areas if you dont have a bike with you. The water park is wonderful, the activities were great and well organized. Great place!
