Extended Stay America Select Suites - Oklahoma City - Norman

When I booked a room online it was me,my son and dog. When I came in and paid had the dog and paid nothing was said after 3 day they charged me 216 dollars for my dog. And my rent from 360 to 625 week and I told them I would pay for the room when I got off work at 5pm they was going to charge me $30 late fee. But a lady we worked together they didn't charge her late fee. I will never stay in again worse place ever.

I stayed here for a few weeks, it was clean, staff was friendly. Due to covid policy's changed for housekeeping it is only upon request and I get it. The property was quiet there was one night there was a small disturbance but the staff quickly and kindly defused the situation in order to not bother other residents which I was very thankful for because it was pretty late. The GM was very helpful. They just changed to extended stay so they where a little new on there systems lol but they did great. They are now offering extended perks which is something they didn't have with woodsprings which made my day. I would definitely come back.

We checked in Sunday afternoon around 3pm. We dropped off our bags and went to dinner with friends. When we arrived back to our room around 8:30 pm, we discovered the remote and tv would NOT work. Not a problem right? NOT QUITE! I went to the front desk to get a new remote. The front desk area was CLOSED. To be fair, I had never stayed at an extended stay property before. I didn't know the laws of the land so to speak. I returned to the room and called the hotel. After a series of prompts, a female with a heavy accent answered the phone. I told her the remote wouldn't work and the tv would not turn on manually. She told me the front desk was CLOSED and I could get help tomorrow. Shocked, I asked her if she was kidding. She HUNG up on me. Furious, I called back from another phone. A very nice female answered. Katelyn told me we could change rooms. She instructed me to meet the on property manager at the front desk to receive new keys. The night on property manager was very nice. She gave me new keys no questions asked. Finally, a room with TV. As far as the property, the rooms were very basic. Found a strange hair on the toliet and a few bugs in the bathroom on the 2nd day. The room had a full size refrigerator (very clean) and a 2 burner stove (again clean). The stove light had a PINK bulb in it. Odd I thought. No lamps. Only overhead lighting. The patrons were quiet and no issues there. The elevator was a return to the 70's. Some of the people stay there must have ********* cards. The elevator was a total contact high. It reeked of pot. If you're still planning on staying there, bring your own HAIR DRYER, SHAMPOO, CONDITIONER, and ICE. They only furnish a wafer thin bar of soap. If you need clean towels, take the dirty ones to the front desk and trade them for clean. This property needs to take the phone away from the woman with the heavy accent. She might own the hotel but she needs to avoid contact with anyone staying there. I heard they are soon going to be a CHOICE hotel member soon. I would strongly advise CHOICE to send a representative there for another look. Perhaps, your experience will be better than mine. I hope so.

The woman at the “intake desk” asked us for both our drivers licenses and made copies of both front and back and looked us up on her computer using our licenses. I asked why and she told me the hotel didn’t rent to sex offenders (you read that right). She also said they needed the copy of our licenses so if I came down to pick up a key they could check the copy of my ID to make sure it was me. When I said I would have to show her my license WITH MY PICTURE ON IT anyway she told me how smart I was and that it was so they could prove who was in the room. (?) We also had to initial the form that we wouldn’t steal the furniture or the bed. (Another head shaker). I am 67 years old and rarely speechless. We left early the next morning and I made them give me the copies of the licenses. This was the sketchiest place have ever had the dubious dishonor to experience.
