We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at The Ferry Boat Inn. The accommodation was immaculate, clean, and had lovely décor and furnishings. It was warm, had everything we needed and was truly amazing. The three course evening meal and the breakfast were both beautifully cooked and piping hot. Without exception, every single member of staff was polite, friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to recommend The Ferry Boat Inn and we will definitely aim to stay there again in the near future.

Lovely stay at the Ferry Boat Inn. Rooms very comfortable and clean with an excellent breakfast included. Staff were super friendly and helpful too. Lovely location with river walks and sheep in field behind. Plenty of room for car parking. Would definitely stay again and recommend highly.

One of the potential bonuses of going somewhere that has been excellent is that expectations have been set. Especially for a specific occasion such as a birthday dinner. Our experience could not have been further from the 2023 5 star, to be honest I would have had more respect if the establishment declined the table bookings due to the time of year. I appreciate that this is a tricky period between Christmas and new year where food shortages could be a problem for many a seasoned location - so I don’t want to focus on the availability of dishes, unfortunately this is based around customer care and food execution. On this occasion we were a party of 7, celebrating a birthday, two of the party had the burger, which as eye candy was fantastic to look at, however both were cold, one was colder than the other and unfortunately that was given to the Birthday ‘boy’, and unfortunately completely inedible. He tried his best to deconstruct the components to find some sort of warmth but to no avail. The waiting staff when they finally came over, said they would tell the Chef - it may have been nice to understand what chef’s feedback was, as we then avoided like the plague. We were left high and dry without drinks for considerable time. You might expect this behaviour from a packed pub/restaurant but we were on one of three occupied table throughout the whole place so things should not have been this poor. When the table was cleared desert menus appeared at the speed of light, which was incredible but alas the order of desserts to delivery to a little over 30mins, and the occupied table count was down to two tables, amongst our variety of desserts were three Apple crumble’s two with ice cream and one with custard, you my think that following a 30 minute wait the crumble would be hot, or at least warm…..nope, the ball of ice cream was comfortably sitting on top with no signs of melting…..you guessed it cold Crumble….. Again it was suggest that the Chef would be told but alas that faceless entity offered no comment. This was a very disappointing experience, one that had chances of rectification at the time, rather than me being a keyboard warrior. Unfortunately this poor experience, doesn’t help the cause to spend more money on having another go, nor does it turn back the time on the birthday experience that should have been a time for celebration not people sitting around a small table being frustrated….

Very well equipped rooms, attractive decor and good size. Food was excellent especially the full english which was big enough that I skipped lunch and dinner (good job I passed on the tomato!) Outside was very pretty and very peaceful. If in the area, worth a visit

From the moment we arrived we were impressed with the welcoming staff, and the atmosphere in the light bright bar. Having been able to check-in early - nothing was too much trouble for the staff, we were very impressed with our room. Comfortable bed, ample storage, and great shower room. The underfloor heating was a lovely bonus! Dinner was excellent, and well served, as was the excellent breakfast. A great stay, would definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

Excellent fully refurbished, comfortable accommodation. A very well managed, cashless & card only pub serving hearty breakfasts to both residents and non residents. Well presented and delicious evening meal. Plenty of garden furniture for pub lunches.
