I was allocated room 102 and asked to change as it’s opposite the door at the top of the stairs, so loads of traffic (people coming and going). The staff very kindly moved me to the end of a corridor, 146, and that was excellent. Probably the best night’s sleep I’ve had at a Premier Inn. Clean room and an excellent extractor fan in the bathroom. Outstanding value for money.

Very Clean, value for money, excellent service from the hotel and restaurant staff and everything I needed including towels a shower and bath, TV. Very comfortable bed and room temperature controllable. We stayed for 10 days and had no problems at all

We stay here regularly when we visit Newcastle as it is midway between the city and the coast. The staff are all fantastic. Reception team are very welcoming and handle checkin very efficiently. They respond quickly to any queries or requests for assistance. There is extensive parking and even when the hotel is full, you can always find a space. This is an older style premier inn and the room which we book is spacious and provides accommodation where we can on a multiday stay, spend part of the evening relaxing. Room rates for early booking can be very reasonable but whenever you book the hotel delivers great value for money.

Really nice and clean hotel with helpful staff. They are doing a lot of work to bring the hotel up-to-date, but it’s still very clean. It’s a good place to stop as it’s in a residential place, The area is very clean, there is a pub right next door and if you don’t mind a good 10 minute walk is even a small shopping centre

I always use Premier for short breaks and this one did not disappoint. Parking was great. The location for getting in and out of Newcastle proved extremely convenient. Having friendly, helpful reception staff always available was a bonus.

I usually stay at Holystone en-route to and from The Highlands. Guaranteed a clean and tidy room, comfy bed resulting in a great night's sleep, plenty of hot water and a good meal. Wifi wasn't great on this visit - I usually don't have a problem, whether it's because I was at the very far end of the first floor corridor or not? Have an evening meal and breakfast in The Cookhouse next door - being a solo female traveller, I sometimes feel a bit awkward eating by myself in some restaurants but always feel comfortable in The Cookhouse. I always go for a meal deal and have never been disappointed with my evening meal or breakfast. Excellent value for money and good quality food.

Premier Inn rooms are pretty much the same wherever you are. As I always stay in these hotels for business trips the stay comes down to a few key factors. These to me are location, cleanliness and quality of the WiFi. As I try to get work done when staying away a good connection is important. I get increasingly frustrated at the PI chain providing a really poor free WiFi and then offering you a paid upgrade to the ultimate WiFi. Invariably, I end up tethering off my mobile when trying to get a reasonable connection. At Holyatone, the WiFi is shocking. I could not tether due to poor signal and to make matters worse, the Ultimate WiFi was just as bad. The reception team said the reason was because the hotel was in a dip! Until this changed I will give this location a miss.
