Exceptional lodge. Super comfy beds, plenty of great food & drink, amazing views. The Mavela team deliver a seamless 1st class personally tailored service, aided by keeping guest numbers small (just 7 tents). They clearly care for eachother, their guests and the natural world. Guides are passionate & knowledgable and make the most of Manyoni's top quality game / bird watching opportunities on every drive. Our experience overall (& especially on my birthday) was epic! We felt at home from the moment we arrived, and learnt & saw so much while we were there. I would return in a heartbeat.

My family and I had the opportunity to celebrate my 60th birthday recently at the lodge. This was our first visit to the lodge, having previously visited our lodges in Manyoni Reserve. The 7 tents are beautifully appointed and rank with other luxury tented accommodation we have stayed in. The staff were warm and friendly, being very attentive and welcoming. Thanks must go to Martinique , Janu and Anastasia for all they did to make our trip memorable. Caitlin our ranger was incredible and went out of her way to ensure we got the best possible sighting. Her calm and gentle demeanor, supported by our great knowledge and bush sense made our outings memorable. The chefs and general staff are great and the food is world class. Our surprise bush breakfast was amazing and really appreciated. We will most definitely return.

Five star experience but still with a homely feel. The staff were excellent, especially our ranger JVR. The glamping tents are huge and so well equiped and spaced well for privacy. Delicious food and plenty of it! Game drives were so exciting and the drinks at sunrise and sunset amazing. We enjoyed a dip in the pool, relaxed on our balcony and watched birds and animals from the beautiful lodge. A brilliant experience.

Our visit was "perfect". The accommodation, lodge, food and game drives excellent. The property is well maintained and the game and birdlife plentiful. We dined on excellent food in lots of different places which added to the ambiance. Loved coffee and sundowners on the drives.

The absolute best experience I could have had for my first safari. The staff is SO attentive and kind - they make sure you always have everything you need from coffee, tea, linens, etc. The tents are like staying in a five star hotel. The chefs also make it a fine dining experience every day and night. The game drives are spectacular. We saw one of the big five every time we went out with a very close encounter with lions twice. The bird watching is also unreal!! I will recommend Mavela to everyone I know!

What an amazing experience! The staff, the location, the nature! Everything is as spectacular beyond our expectations! Thanks so much for the best experience! The welcoming was amazing! The services and friendliness of all staff were infectious. Our game drives was definitely something for the books! We same the entire big 5 and the rangers made sure of that! The food was amazing! The accommodation and location are exceptional!

An absolutely gorgeous gem of a place. I stayed with my family in two tents during January and forgot to review the place. The food was absolutely delicious, the attention to detail superb. The game drives were amazing and we saw the big five. Quite a contrast to the Kruger park as it is greener and more lush as it is Natal. The most pleasant two nights! If you can, please do experience the beauty of Mavela.
