We stayed for a weekend at the Wilderness Inn. The Alaska Suite was great, and very comfortable. This is one of their larger rooms. It had a queen size bed, 4 poster cannon ball bed, which had a good mattress and was very comfortable. There was also a small room with bunk beds. Helpful for clothes storage, or would be good for kids. The bathroom was roomy and had a nice jet-whirpool tub. The gas fireplace was a very nice feature, which got the room cozy warm. There is also a back porch with a seating area, which was too cold to enjoy. A full hot breakfast was served, with very tasty with 5 different made-to-order choices (omelette with choice of veggies, pancakes, crepes, fresh fruit, cerial). You need to sign up for your time slot the night. before, since they only serve 3 tables at a time. Just an FYI in. case you are on a tight schedule. There is also tea and hot chocolate available after breakfast hours The inn keepers seemed very nice and welcoming. On our second day Karen, one of the owners gave us a nice history of the hotel. The Inn is charming, very clean, and the furnishings are comfy. Our room was very quiet. We didn't hear a peep from the street noise or neighboring guests. There is wi-fi. Our room didn't have a desk, so it is best for a vacation or weekend get away. The Inn is about 3 or 4 miles to Loon Mountain, and right off route 93. So very convenient to ski country. I would highly recommend the Wilderness Inn and would return the next time I am in the area.

We had a wonderful weekend at the Wilderness Inn! We stayed in the Bungalow on the property and can’t wait to go back for other seasons! You really can’t beat the location - so close to the center, Ice Castles and Loom Mountain. Breakfast was great too!

This adorable inn was perfect for our family's Christmas ski vacation. Located in close proximity to several ski resorts, we enjoyed several, with Loon being our favorite (which was also closest to the inn.) Karen and Allen treated us to such delightful breakfast each morning and gave us all the advice and recommendations we needed for places to eat, shop, sightsee, and ski. Our rooms were cozy and charming and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our entire experience and highly recommend.

We checked ourselves in by arriving to find a note with instructions & our key (I like that). There was water, tea & coffee in a small pantry. The Inn is decorated nicely with antiques. We stayed in room 4. Our room was a 2 queen with furniture for our stuff. There were power strips for our electronics. Shower was nice size & plenty of hot water. Vanity area in room 4 might benefit from a swing arm lighted makeup mirror (the mirror over the vanity is far from the edge, hard to see into. Room heated up nicely. Was clean & beds were nicely decorated. I will say, the bed was really, very uncomfortable & we didn’t sleep well :( The fireplace in the common area was nice , there were blankets to snuggle with, books, games & cocoa. The next few words are meant to help, not criticize. If this was my place, I’d play some nice music during the breakfast, add a door to block the view into the kitchen & set more tables so that even if every room had travelers in it, each person would be able to eat at the same time. There are only 3 little tables in the dining room. The hosts are nice. Breakfast was yummy. I’d stay here again for sure.

My husband and I checked into the Inn and noted that they had a sheet of paper with times for people to write their name in for breakfast the next morning. We did not put our names on the breakfast schedule as we were unsure of when we would be up and ready for breakfast. The next morning we happened to be up and ready before 7am. My husband went downstairs to get us both a cup of coffee and look at the breakfast schedule. There were two openings for the 7:00am sitting....that's where this experience went downhill! My husband asked the female owner if we could join the 7am breakfast, and was told "you didn't write your name down" then curtly told him, "write your name in" . He then said, well can I get two cups of coffee to bring to our room. She first said yes, as long as you bring the cups back downstairs, then promptly said “NO, there aren’t enough cups.” Needless to say, when he came back to the room, we gathered our things to leave. However, before leaving I went down to confront her, she was gone to the store, I angrily told the male owner about the experience. When we were about to leave a few minutes later, the female owner was back and actually cornered me in their “hospitality room!” She wanted to know why I confronted her husband when the conversation was between her and my husband. I physically pushed my way past her and we left. Never have we had that bad of experience at a so called hospitality Inn!

We enjoyed our stay at the Wilderness Inn. It's close to the White Mountain National Forest and walkable to a few restaurants and brewery in North Woodstock. Plus, Alan and Karen serve a big breakfast and great coffee to start your day off right!

Welcoming, easy-going place and hosts. Everything was clean, attractive and comfortable. The breakfast choices were varied and everything was really delicious. Karen is knowledgeable about everything nearby and can advise about hiking trails, activities, restaurants, driving routes, shops; everything! Visitors from several nations while we were there. We would definitely choose to stay there again!

We had a wonderful visit here! The Inn is very clean and cozy. The owners are very nice as well as efficient and the breakfast is yummy. You can easily walk into town to shop, grab a bite to eat or enjoy a drink at the Woodstock Brewery. We stayed here 2 nights.

Our extended family was camping at the nearby KOA campground. (“Been there, done that!”) The Wilderness Inn was a perfect solution for 3 of us. We could join our beloved family for most of the w/e. And, at the same time, sleep in comfort here. Rooms and bath were immaculate. Breakfast, made to order, by chef Alan was top drawer. I especially liked the very fresh fruit. Organization, front of the house, by Karen was “spot on” and I friendly. Don,t miss the lending library if you forgot your own book. The Craftsman style decor lent a homey touch to this quintessential N.H. setting.
