Was below our expectations. Carry luggages up staircase. Very small, cramped room.

My review for this place is not as negative as some of the comments on Google or trip and here is the reason why: i stayed in 3 different places in Nozawa osen this trip, this has by far the best value for money, cheapest with private toilet and real onsen. Location is good and the bed / futon was made for me instead of me having to make my own bed in other places and with shared bathroom and no real onsen. This place provided me with hot water and green tea and snack inside the room of which some other places didn’t. There is a dog in the premise and it barks when you first walk in, I think he is notifying his owner of new guest as the old man’s hearing is not good. The dog never barked at me anymore when I go in and out of the premise once I have checked in. The old man doesn’t speak English and he is not the nicest Japanese you will ever meet, but Google translate works fine.

Horrible rude owner who is probably half deaf…kept shouting and screaming in Japanese at checked in. The recommended antidote is to shout back and you will see him whimpering like a lame duck. And there’s a stupid dog taking up almost half the arrival lobby. If you have heavy luggage’s, good luck, there ain’t any elevators. Absolute crap hotel!!!

The location, rooms and onsen are exceptional. Our stay was among one of my favorite during our adventure in Japan. They even offer discount lift tickets at the front desk. Upon arrival, the host was so kind and showed us around to all the vicinities, and the meals were VERY traditional.

The location is good, and it is very convenient to the ski resort and the shuttle bus station. There is a Chinese reception, and you can enjoy a discounted ski ticket for guests. There is a fierce Dalmatian at the door ~ The facilities are a bit old

The location is right next to the bus stop, and it is convenient to go to the ski resort. The hotel is a bit old, a typical Japanese hotel. The facilities cannot be compared with modern hotels, but the meals are quite rich and the staff are very enthusiastic.
