Premier Inn Nuernberg City Centre

Great location, service and rooms. everything went well with this booking and stay. I also extended the checkout by paying some extra amount which worked well for me.

We have stayed for 5 nights. The hotel is situated near the central railway station and the old city, which is a big advantage. The stuff is gentle, all speak fluently english and are very helpful. However the rooms aren't equipped with a refrigerator, which is absolutely necessary, especially during summer (our stay was during July) and in the automate we could find only carbonated water instead of mineral water. Finally we could buy from the hotel bar a bottle, which was very expensive. The hotel has a bar in the ground floor, but without extra stuff!! So, the stuff from the reception serves in the bar also! Therefore the bar is self-service and certainly you can not enjoy for example a cokctail. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel, so I can't judge it.

Lets get the first of a few downsides out of the way first. We stayed in a family room with a double bed and a folding chair/bed for my child. The foldout bed was utterly awful. Rock hard, ridges where the joins were and no cushioning or mattress to go on it. That being said, the bed was firm but comfortable (though for the sake of us getting sleep, I slept on the fold out bed so my wife and son could actually get some sleep), with the little desk and TV making for a fairly homely stay. The room was clean, with housekeeping only coming to clean if you asked for it (a bonus in my view) and anything needed can be gotten from reception. Our checking in experience was typical of a premier inn, being easy and straight forward, with the wonderful staff being very gracious in the face of our awful attempt at speaking German. Breakfast was decent, a good variety of fried breakfast (bacon, sausage, beans, scrambled and boiled egg) with cereals, breads, yoghurts available too (including vegan options). Dinner was a different matter. There is very little available, primarily pizza and Pinsa, which would be fine but on our first night there was less than half of their menu available. The last downside - the air conditioning was abysmal. End of October and, though it was warmer than normal, it was by no means hot, but the air conditioning couldn't deal with it at all. Standing in front of the unit on full blast, you can barely feel the air flow. Yes, its not the most central of hotels, but its not that far and its fairly close to a tram stop. The staff were all absolutely wonderful, helpful and friendly and were a pleasure to deal with every single time. Would I stay here again? On my own or with my wife, yes, absolutely. As a family? Not so much, mostly because of the uncomfortable fold out bed.

Great hotel, comfortable and very good location. Really made by their staff, friendly and professional. Special mention for Alex, night reception. My wife and I had, had a very stressful trip overdue to delays and very short transit times. Arriving at close to midnight it was it was a pleasure to be welcomed by Alex. He was super friendly, could see that we were stressed and made us feel really welcome. While we had a drink, chatted with us and offered us advice on places to visit and local foods. The guy is a diamond in the Premier Inn organisation. Bed comfortable and room very clean and adequate. Only small complaint, one side of bed too close to wall, minor issue.
