Hambleton Hall

We had the most wonderful stay at Hambleton Hall the staff were so attentive, the room we had was beautiful, well decorated with all the amenities. The restaurant was beyond excellent just amazing food !! And service

I had always wanted to stay here when I lived in the UK but I had an excuse to visit on my recent trip from Australia and it was the highlight. 3 of us stayed in 2 rooms. The best welcome to any hotel ever with 2 staff joining to welcome us. We were taken to our rooms and shown everything that mattered. Adam struggled with our luggage without a murmur. We had afternoon tea in the beautiful lounge ( although we thought it was included lol). The decor was in keeping with the ambiance of the house. We had pre booked dinner so started off with drinks and amuse bouche in the lounge. Then for a magical dinner. It was my daughter’s special birthday and they had produced a personalised menu for her to take away. But the food was incredible and the service from the Maitre’d, Sommelier and staff was faultless. Good choice of courses. Difficult to choose which dessert to have but one of us had cheese which was served from a trolley by an expert. We had liqueurs in the bar served by a knowledgeable bartender. Breakfast was equally great. Choice from a menu and the big breakfast included black pudding. Pastries were from their bakery and were superb. Our rooms were very comfortable and I had the biggest bathroom ever. Comfortable bed and very relaxing environment. We strolled down to Rutland Water after breakfast and then checked out - again with an appreciative staff. I am running out of superlatives. So how about ‘fantastic’ to finish?

Contacted Hambleton Hall tonight with a view to booking Christmas at this lovely hotel. I was lucky enough to engage with Debrowa who was outstanding. She checked with management in both restaurant and hotel to accommodate my requests and called me back within 20 minutes and was able to sort out all of my awkward requests. An absolute star.

Lovely lunch with my elderly parents who really enjoyed the excellent food and service. All courses were superb with the usual Hambleton twists to what you think you might have ordered! Afterwards we sat out on the terrace enjoying the spring sunshine and drinking our coffee.

This is a lovely property for a peaceful and relaxing break. There is a very strong personal service element here. Stunning dinner and wine. I had probably the best grouse dish I’ve ever eaten. Slightly disconcerting that reception staff keep wanting to take your room key off you when you come downstairs.

We visited Hambleton Hall for our 45th wedding anniversary. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. The staff were very pleasant. We would definitely go back for a return visit in the future.
