I just got back from 3 days at this property while visiting for a wedding and WOW, what an amazing place. Firstly, it’s not a Ritz-Carlton, so don’t expect that. It’s more like a quaint locals home you’re staying in and I couldn’t have loved it more. Each room looks different, the lobby stair case is so cute, I felt very secure, and the staff was always there to assist us. We arranged transportation to and from the airport through the front desk for about $40 each way for two people. They had the car there waiting both times and they covered payment to the drivers. The free breakfast was SO good and the views were unmatched. Everyone who worked there seemed to love what they did and it made us feel like we were part of the family. The rooms had A/C which is kind of rare there and we never ran out of hot water. (Our friends who stayed at other places said hot water was an issue.) There was always someone at the front desk to let us in late at night and the location was so perfect to everything walkable. You don’t have to take my word for it, but if you want a local, safe, friendly, clean, and centrally located hotel in Oaxaca, this is your place.

If you like old buildings with the original walls and floors, this is your place. The rooms are huge, perfect for families (the bathroom is located within one of the bedrooms). We thought we would love the charm and antiquity of this hotel. But, we found the room to be musty and dusty. The owner has cluttered the rooms with trinkets, creepy old dolls, and canopies. We found the musty smell to be off-putting--running the A/C helped a little. Additionally, the front desk staff was very disorganized from our info-gathering phone calls to our in-person interactions (and we speak Spanish). The best parts of the hotel were the location, which was superb, and the ladies upstairs who prepared breakfast everyday with big smiles and remembered who liked what.

Beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Central Oaxaca. Walking distance to amazing restaurants and historical properties . The employees are very friendly and helpful. The design of the rooms is breathtaking. The beds are super comfortable. I have never slept so well, in my entire life .

What a charming and original and soulful hotel. The people that work here could not be kinder and more attentive. The rooms are large and original and infused with the Charm of the owner. We came during the off season and they upgraded us to a larger room (complimentary). The location of this hotel is exceptional….only one block from the town center and the best restaurants and art in the city. Breakfast in the morning was great and the rooftop lounge area was also perfect. The family that owns this lovely hotel has put a great deal of love and soul into this jewel of a hotel. One more thing….we have been in Mexico for over a month during this ‘slow season’…I recommend this season (July and Aug) without hesitation. It’s slower, the weather is good, the prices and crowds lower. Come to Mexico during this time.
