South Point Hotel

The hotel was very nice and accommodating. It’s renovated and clean. The people were really friendly and welcoming and helpful. Also we took a great tour of most of all of Barbados with E-Z-B Tour his name is Ezra. The BEST time and saw all of the main points and beautiful sights of Barbados. Definitely recommend doing the tour with him.

We chose this place just for an overnight stay, as we had a cruise to catch the following day. At first, the reception was warm, but the lady there, had no idea of what she was doing, forever asking the one beside her what to do. Then we were taken to our room. Cheap decoration and it smelt of mold everywhere, but the pillows and bathroom were unbearable. Dinner at Driftwood was very good and tasty, but it couldn’t be charged to the room. They came knocking at the door late in the evening with the machine in hand to pay. The breakfast menu ran out of continental breakfast at 9:30 AM (really?). Fortunately, a kind server was able to get some toast and coffee for us. The man at reception in the morning, was extremely unpleasant and treated us rudely. I’m surprised this hotel is rated 4.5* stars. It’s more like 2* stars. The bathroom counter was cracked, the shampoo and bath gel shelf had fallen out from the shower wall and was just left on the counter, and 1 lamp was burnt out! No phone in the room, so if we wanted anything, we had to walk up and down two flights of stairs, every time. No normal TV, just Netflix, so you can’t watch the news channels, only movies. Nearby beach is not an option. I would never recommend this place.

Such an amazing hotel with great staff. We were greeted upon our arrival by Baggio, Michael and Fabian, who provided help with our luggage. Unfortunately there is no lift so if you’re on the second floor like we were, it’s hard to reach your room with heavy suitcases. Our room was large and spacious with a small kitchenette and a lovely balcony looking out to the sea and pool area. Throughout our stay the staff couldn’t do enough to help us. Fabian, Shochia and Whitley helped us book everything from excursions to taxis and everything in between. The staff took great care of the hotel grounds and Jean Pierre, Shan and Hakeem always took time to greet us each morning as we left the hotel. They gave us great restaurant and beach recommendations which we certainly made use of. Behind the bar Isaac made us fantastic cocktails and told us the about the best nightlife Barbados had to offer. I can’t recommend the hotel enough.

Hidden Gem with Exceptional Service and Comfort I recently stayed at South point hotel and I’m honestly surprised this place isn’t more widely known. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the usual tourist spots, it offers a peaceful retreat with exceptional service and attention to detail. What I loved most, though, was the quiet ambiance. It’s the kind of place where you can unwind without distractions.

This is a beautiful property that is not adequately resourced so beware. My family and I came for a birthday get away. When checking in early, we were told our rooms would be available between Noon - 1 PM and we could wait at the bar/pool area which we did. When we came back to check, we were told that 3 PM was check in time and we'd just have to wait. Had we known this, we would have gone to the beach and came back. As it turns out, the rooms were not ready at 3 PM but we waited an additional 2 hours before our 2 rooms were ready. At that time, only 1 was the type of room we booked so half our family had to wait another 90 minutes. The property has much potential but not as currently resourced. It appears that it changed hands or re-opened in March, nine months prior to our stay. I would emphasize the staff we encountered were friendly but sometimes didn't even show back up after a request was made. My guess is that they could not provide what was promised and were tired of responding without any answers or support from the property/management. The following days were just about the same: - no towels for guests at the pool - when there were towels, they lasted approx 5 min and were not replenished - no bottled water available anywhere, even for purchase - incorrect service or much delayed service at the restaurant - frequently out of basic offerings at restaurant - smoothies, eggs, cassava fries, fish and chips +++ - in addition to poor food service, there are no snacks or other goods for purchase on the property We were connected with a great local surf lesson (Andre Clarke, check him out) via the front desk and that would have to be the one positive of the trip. What was supposed to be a fun family birthday trip devolved into eternal waiting for services that never arrived. I wish I could say that management had any interest in resolving the difference between what was promised and what was delivered but they didn't address it with us while we were at the property and as of this writing and submitting a similar written email, we have had no communication or compensation for the difference between what was promised and what was delivered.

A hidden Gem located on the south cost of Barbados. The food is excellent, every dish we had was superb. The service provided was impeccable. Isaac is a true credit to the hotel and is destined for very big things. I’ve travelled extensively and he was the very best I have had the pleasure of encountering. Thank you for being so professional welcoming knowledgeable and charismatic! The front of house staff and management also deserve credit for being accommodating with our many requests and prompt with the resolutions. We will definitely visit again! If you have the chance make sure you do!
