Rainbow Pines Tourist Caravan Park

On our arrival the BBQ was filthy, out of gas and had a broken burner. The next morning management were responsive and promptly replaced the gas bottle. The park management were friendly and helpful. Small tubs of worms were expensive at $20 - check them to ensure they are alive. The recycle bin was full on our arrival and never got emptied during the week of our stay. Overall the park is very dated and the $254 charged per night for the cabin is massively overpriced. I would recommend stopping at Buckenderra instead.

The cabins are very run down. I shared a cabin with another couple and the door to my bedroom was jammed half-way shut so had to slide out. It is a very old fashioned arrangement whereby I had to walk through their (main) bedroom to use the bathroom. There is no air conditioner but a heater instead with insufficient instructions, though finally worked it out! They have a minimum stay of 2 nights otherwise one must pay a penalty if you only need one night (our situation). I stayed the previous night in Providence Portal so there are plenty of other far superior accommodation choices (also Anglers Reach, plus Adaminaby) where there was no additional payment for one night only stay. Also the booking procedures for our group was unnecessarily cumbersome.

$50 anight for a powered site will destroy this this park. The park is lovely with great views and great amenities, new nice managers. But you don't get a discount for longer stays. So the Owners need to think seriously about their prices in off season, otherwise they won't get the customers

Dirty, Mould, Wet Floor, Wet Duvet because it absorbed the water from the floor. Socks and belt under the bunk, Filthy kettle, frypan, toaster (we bought a new kettle so we could have a cup of coffee/tea). Under the bunks dirty, the bunks frames were filthy. The whole cabin needs a thorough clean from top to bottom. We paid $860 for two nights and asked for a refund as we couldn’t stay in that filth a second night and were told, NO REFUND! The manager said that the wet floor was from condensation. Rubbish, it’s wet, not damp! That doesn’t explain the filth mate. On a positive note, the sheets and towels were clean. We had stayed there a few years ago and it certainly wasn’t like this. NEVER AGAIN.
