The Anchor Inn

Quite a self-contained stay. I received instructions as to how to get to my room which was in the adjoining building to the pub. It was a lovely deluxe room with plenty of space allowing me to get some admin work done beflore relaxing. They had a fridge with plenty of items to choose from for the continental breakfast. The shower was pretty good and the bed very comfortable. There were dining options on site but also other choices not too far away. A very friendly place and great way to spend an overnight stay.

Great find Great Pub with great food and a really comfortable place to stay. Breakfast was a help your self in the room which worked fine. I took it out to the garden which was lovely. I'll come back for sure

One night in the Anchor inn The Anchor inn is a beautiful traditional British inn. The bar is very friendly and the staff are very helpful. There is a good restaurant serving a selection of home cooked snacks and meals. There are 3 rooms for stays with complimentary cold breakfasts. A selection of cereals, yogurts, fruit juice etc. There are toasters in the rooms along with small fridges. The rooms are very pleasant and offer walk in showers, spotless linen and towels, comfortable beds , irons and hairdryers. We really enjoyed our one night at the Anchor inn and would like to return. There is free on site car parking, children are welcome. The bedrooms are accessed via an exteria stone stairway. For the traditional beer drinkers there are several traditional beer and ciders on offer including Bass served by gravity from the barrel

We stayed here as part of a Cycle trip around the South Cotswolds. (The pub is located just off National Cycle route 41). Our group booked two rooms, Dancers being the largest with triple aspect windows overlooking the garden and Boules Court. Everything was spotlessly clean, well appointed and comfortable: we were able to take our continental breakfast down into the garden, and the selection of breakfast items was very good - especially the home made Muesli. Dinner in the restaurant was very much enjoyed with a great choice of dishes from the reasonably priced menu. Previously we had had lunch here, which again was very good. The only comment we would make is that it would be nice to be able to meet a host - we arrived before the pub opens, and the key was in the room - in the morning we left before the pub opened, and could not leave any personal feedback and thanks, which is a shame, as this pub earns itself great credit. I have been a fan of this pub for decades BUT on Monday 27 May (Bank Holiday) I arrived at 21:10 for a drink and it was prematurely closed, all curtains drawn, doors locked. Some staff were drinking at an outdoor table round the side and confirmed it was now closed. Well before the advertised closing time. I’m sure the staff would say there were no customers so they decided to close. You wouldn’t accept that of the Co-op or Tesco. My pub wouldn’t do it. It is not not acceptable customer service.
