I loved our time at Monument Valley. We came a few years ago, but for various reasons the trip was rather rushed, so I have always wanted to come back, to have more of a chance to drink in the atmosphere and the view. Our cabin was fine, very clean and comfortable, and because we were on the end we weren't overlooked. I loved sitting out on our veranda with a coffee, taking in the view. The road up to the cabins was full of potholes, probably made worse because it had rained the previous day. We were given a breakfast voucher and a shop voucher, which they said was to compensate for the ongoing work. We had dinner at the restaurant which was tasty, but very small portions, and they didn't serve pudding. Breakfast was very crowded with a massive queue when we arrived. It was badly set out, because everyone had to queue in the same place irrespective of what they wanted.

This review is for the campground. Basically a gravel parking lot with a view to die for. The bathrooms were clean and showers good. My issue was the price I paid was double what a person next to us with a bigger vehicle paid. I sent an e mail to question but no response. I had booked many months in advance of my stay. Maybe last minute is less expensive?

The campground is a gravel parking lot with no shade and no water. Not much better than boondocking. Don’t camp here. Not allowed to drive around after 5pm. Only tour groups can do the loop. All you will be able to do is sit in the hot sun at your campsite. This place is a total rip off!!

We drove almost 500 miles from Vegas, and a year of planning, to find a dirty, musty cabin, with filthy beds with what looked like inground blood and urine stains on every bedsheet, totally unwashed. The blankets on top were not washed either, nor could they hide what we found underneath them. We had reserved an Executive Valley Rim Cabin, we were given number 4. The lady was very nice, professional and offered us another cabin but after reserving what we thought was a top cabin i asked if that one was of that calibre, would another be the opposite? By that time, we were so disgusted, even the monuments at sunset could not compensate us. I literally cried, my husband was so annoyed. He then had to drive almost another 100 miles back to Tuba City for a hotel, as Kayenta was full. At around $400 per night, they need to clean up their act and clean up their cabins. We were devastated and disgusted!! The cabins are very close together, and the area is naturally strewn with photographers, understandably wanting to capture the sunset. We hope to go back to Monument Valley one day, but only in a clean RV, there was a lot there and they had lots of space, The View need to renovate or do some proper cleaning and washing! I hate leaving bad reviews but this was a must.

When you pay these prices, is it too much to expect working wifi to be able to talk to family. The staff seem to have embraced apathy while the place has set mediocrity as its goal. The views are fantastic, but when you are disappointed with the accommodation and general service levels, it really takes the lustre off the experience. I will definitely NOT return

We went to Monument Vally in 2021 and stayed at The View Hotel. This trip (6/2024) we traveled with family and stayed in 2 cabins; best decision ever! We loved the cabins AND the view was spectacular! We experienced a huge thunderstorm shortly after arriving that knocked out power for hours, cabins were first to come back on. A good continental breakfast was served up each morning in the hotel. We went on a cultural scenic tour the next moaning, a must do-fabulous! Cabins were far better for families than View Hotel. Love magical Monument Valley!

These are nice, spacious cabins with an amazing view. Included breakfast at the hotel and two complimentary bottles of water that you also need to go to the hotel to get. Check in was quick though not very friendly. Could not get on the wifi in the cabin. There is a great hike that begins at the far side of the cabins that we stumbled upon and were so happy we did. The standout here is the view!

We stayed in a cabin with our two boys (ages 10 and 12) for one night. The price was outside our typical budget, but I'd had this place on my travel wishlist for a long time, and it did not disappoint! We found all the staff very nice and helpful, and we had no problems with check-in or anything else. Be aware that you have to pay the fee to enter the tribal park ($8 per person). This fee was good for the day. So if you leave the tribal park the next day, you will have to pay again to re-enter. The view from the cabin and the hotel was incredible! I didn't even realize for a while that there was no TV in the cabin, because we just sat on the porch and took it all in. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. Three full meals and an appetizer for $100 was pricey, but we knew this place would be expensive, and we budgeted for it. My only real disappointment here was that I had been looking forward to trying fry bread, but it was no longer on the menu. There are many other places in the general area where you can get it. They gave us a gift certificate for $20 in the gift shop -- this only applies to handcrafted items such as blankets or pottery. We took a short hike in the morning and went to breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast had fewer offerings that what you would find at a chain hotel, and it seemed that when they ran out of something, that was it. We took the scenic drive only as far as John Ford Point and then turned around. We were ready to be on our way to the next town by that point. For us this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I would recommend it as such. It was a wonderful, memorable highlight of our trip.

PROS: The views are amazing—just as you see in the photos, especially if you book a cabin on the lower level. Cozy cabin with bunk beds for kids. CONS: Horrible Wi-Fi, had to use my ATT data the entire two nights Needs duvets....flimsy bedspread that I don't believe was laundered. I'm almost certain these are used over and over. The pillows smelled. The door's shades would not open, obscuring the full view. Noisy A/C The towels felt like cardboard, not fluffy. The cabins tout themselves as "Green." They give you all these little shampoos and conditioners in disposable plastic bottles, not utilizing a greener way of doing this. You'll get a water bottle coupon when you check in. You must go to the hotel to redeem these. Instead of making guests schlep to the hotel, how about stocking the mini fridge with water?
