We spent 4 nights at Finch Hattons Luxury Tented Camp and had the most magical experience!! From the moment our plain touched down on the private airstrip to the moment we had to leave our stay was pure heaven. We were travelling for my spouse’s birthday, and the entire Finch Hattons staff went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. Upon arriving at the property, you feel like you are stepping into the magical world of “Out of Africa”. This place is absolutely gorgeous, old-world luxury. The “tents” are like no tent we have ever seen. They are large and luxurious and beautifully decorated and with a wonderful terrace/wooden deck overlooking the natural springs. From here you will be able to spot hippos, crocodiles, and a large array of beautiful birds. All meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) are served at the table with white tablecloth and napkins on beautiful fine china and shining crystal. In a gentil and pleasant manner and atmosphere you are invited to take your time and enjoy the meal. The food was amazing, carefully prepared and well-presented. Boniface took very good care of us during all of our meals, and he also got to know our dessert routine 😉. He and all of the restaurant/bar staff were absolutely lovely. The chef also came out to greet us personally so we could tell him how delicious his food was. In the evenings we were entertained by Alex with his guitar and singing. The excellent Maasai guides Matthew and Isaac guided us during our (early) morning and (late) afternoon/evening game drives. They both are so very knowledgeable and passionate about what they do and told us everything there is to know about the flora and fauna in the area. They also showed us other amazing places like the Shetani Lava Flow, the Chyulu Hills and the general and breathtaking beauty of Tsavo. With all the activities carefully planned by Matthew and Isaac every day was a pleasure and surprise with a new plan of action. We also loved the “bush breakfast” (including cooked b’fast to order and some bubbly), the “sundowner” (with lovely finger food and full bar) while watching the sunset and the Maasai “Olympics” (we got to try some of the activities for ourselves). Matthew and Isaac are experts in spotting animals. We also got better at it but mostly it was an ALT (animal looking thing 😉). One of the most memorable evenings at the camp was watching Out of Africa in the open air. There is no better place on earth to watch this movie. After that we had a private and intimate dinner (with Boniface taking very good care of us) at the stargazing deck ending the evening admiring the amazing Tsavo sky. We can't say enough good things about Finch Hattons! We were blown away by the service and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff at Finch Hattons are the heart and soul of this place. They pay attention to everything down to the last detail and take extremely good care of you. We want to thank every single one of you for m
