A fabulous stat for all of us. The accomodation, snorkeling and fishing was great and it felt like we had our own private island. The staff were very friendly and helpful in all respects. Thanks again and we are planning another trip in the future

Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. The bbq dinner was delicious and staff joined us which was so nice as we got to hear about the island. They dropped us off at the deck on the other side of the island for sunset and picked us up after. They took us also to the west side to see the turtles and explained about the turtles and breeding. It was an amazing experience. Well worth the visit and stay .

Day 1 On the ferry trip we saw whales. We were able to jump into a double kayak pop out in front of our cabin .. the snorkelling from there was really special so many different corals. We caught a lift to west end to see the sunset and saw a few pairs of osprey then had dinner by the stars .. the staff are lovely and provided a vegetarian option for me. Day 2 relaxing morning the short stroll to north side and brief swim. Saw quail and their Newley born chicks. Back to another snorkel this time saw a stingray more amazing coral and many fish including parrot fish. Then we were picked up and taken to west end for sunset .. only 2 of us there so special ..lovely walk in rock pools and saw crabs and an entertaining colourful octopus. Day 3 Short flight back to Onslow amazing views of island. Would love to come back … thanks.

The whole experience from booking online to arriving, staying and departing the island was an easy process. The Mackerel Island booking team were friendly and helpful and nothing was too hard for them to assist us in our island booking and Onslow Beach Resort stay beforehand. Once at the island, the process was easy, with the team communicating with us on our approach to the island in our own vessel. The team assisted us in unloading our gear on the beach and a quick tour before dropping us off to our cabin. Andy and Maddi were great managers and they have a wonderful team who always assisted when required, were pleasant and very helpful with any thing we required from information, dropping us off to parts of the island, tour of the facilities and helping my elderly father on and off the boat as we came and went. The Cabins are clean and well equipped, the dinner under the stars was excellent with great company and excellent food. There are SUP boards, kayaks and an inflatable tender for use which is helpful when wanting to access the vessels at mooring or just for some leisure activities. Fishing off the beaches is great, with plenty of action on light tackle and the fishing offshore is great. We will definitely be going back for future vacations. Highly recommended.

A very unique wonderful experience made even better by the staffs willingness to help with all your activities. Totally off grid but you wouldn’t know it with the cabins being fully air conditioned and fully self contained. Your right in the beach. We will be back!

The whole island experience was terrific: accommodation, tours, and staff. Our accommodation was comfortable, and the views of the water from the veranda were terrific. The sunsets were spectacular, and we were fortunate to see Turtles arriving on the island to nest. The coral reefs close to shore allow snorkelling and viewing from the Kayaks/Paddleboards

Exactly what we all needed. A few days to reset, relax and refuel. While the fishing conditions weren’t the best we still got out when we could and the island activities helped occupy our group. Having 15 people accommodated over 2 units next to each other worked well.

It was the best experience we’ve ever had, going there by ferry and back was pretty awesome. Being met by the crew was wonderful. I can’t express how wonderful the crew is, from the Onslow resort right through to the island, they’re all really helpful and accommodating and by far the friendliest young group of men and women we’ve had the pleasure to meet. Everything was to perfection for us. I would recommend the mackerel islands to everyone that need to get away and have a break

Was a great place to unwind and chillax. Staff were very helpful and provided awesome service. A dugong swam under our double kayak which was both cruisey and exciting. Accomodation quite comfortable and had all mod cons of home. Overall a great experience Thanks guys
