Villa Sunset

We have just returned from a lovely 7 day stay at the Villa Sunset apartments in Plat. We travelled as a family of four, with two older teenagers (19 and 17). The apartments are modern and clean with the most wonderful views of the Adriatic. The hosts Danko and his father Zoran are wonderfully attentive and nothing is too much trouble. We arrived on an early flight from Manchester landing at 10am and we were at the apartments by 11am (the apartment is only a short drive from the airport). Zoran was available to greet us and allowed us to access the apartment to drop our bags until the check in time of 2pm, this was very helpful indeed and meant that we could go and explore and use the pool area. The apartments are about a 20 minute walk (5 minute drive) to the picturesque village of Mlini where there are a number of bars and eateries. A little further on the coastline, you can walk to Srebrenno beach which has a few more bars and eateries. Dubrovnik is only a 20 minute drive from the apartments and Cavtat is a 10 minute drive. We found the location of the apartments perfect as we love walking and exploring. We ate out most evenings however had breakfast in the apartment every day. The kitchen facilities are ample - we cooked a pasta dish one evening and had everything we needed utensils and equipment wise. The supermarket opposite the apartments remains closed however we were able to get a lift from Zoran to Tommy's supermarket on the first day and got an Uber to Lidl just passed Srebrenno which was only 6 euros. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. The air conditioning was welcomed towards the end of the holiday as the temperatures started rising. We have had the most wonderful holiday staying at the Villa Sunset apartments, I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and be able to fully recharge and relax in the most beautiful country. Croatia, we have fallen in love and will be back!

I don't agree with the praises, such as the hospitality of the landlord, for these good reviews, I canceled the previous booking, changed this homestay, and I even changed my trip to Dubrovnik from two days to three. But I felt racist and sexist in this house, and maybe I had an Asian face and not fluent English. The airport taxi cost 160 yuan and the uber cost 70 yuan, but the landlord charged me 200 yuan, because he stayed in a small supermarket for 15 minutes when he went to his home. On the way, he introduced some attractions near his home and poured us two glasses of wine. But what he said was not what we wanted.

Really enjoyed our stay for the week! The location is handy for travelling between Cavtat and Dubrovnik and is not far from the airport. We used the number 10 bus (travels from Dubrovnik to Cavtat) on a daily basis as this was a cheaper alternative to ordering taxis, the bus stop is a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel- although this is uphill and can be tiring in the heat. There are two pebble beaches within walking distance and a pier where you can catch a boat taxi. There aren’t many restaurants near the hotel. The reception is manned 24/7 and the staff seemed friendly and helpful. Elena checked us in and seemed really informative and helpful with our queries. There is wifi but this is only available in the reception and didn’t work very well unless we were stood outside. Hotel has a small shop where you can buy essentials, a gym, pool table and ATM. There is a poolside bar and restaurant but these only accept cash payments. Food from the restaurant was nice but basic, it was okay for a snack at lunchtime. Room was basic but very clean (cleaners visited on a daily basis), there was a small fridge (no freezer) electric hob and sink (no kettle or toaster) with free air-con. We had a great sea view from our room in the Cecilia block however there were ALOT of steps to the room and back, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you have any mobility problems. Overall hotel seemed really clean, was in a great safe location with friendly staff. I would recommend staying here to others.
One Suite Hotel

Spacious, modern and spotlessly clean apartment. Ideally placed for buses to Cavtat and Dubrovnik. Central for Srebreno with a small shopping centre over the road for everything you may need. Breakfast was enough to set you up for the morning. Had pizza there on arrival first night which was delicious. Pool area a little disappointing with only 5 sun beds on a small sun deck. Pool big enough for a quick dip but not big enough to spend anymore than an hour at. I think 5 days is about right to experience everything we wanted wanted to do whilst there.
Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel

The Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera exceeded all expectations. As a Lifetime Platinum Elite, I understand Marriott properties are now hit or miss, but this was A HUGE HIT AND VALUE. We stayed the 4th of July weekend for 242 Euro per night, including an awesome daily breakfast buffet! This resort in America would be $450 minimum to $750/night. The quality reminded us of The Ritz Mexico City or Bal Harbor. How this is just a Sheraton vs high end Autograph or Le Meridian is beyond me? The staff is wonderful, the rooms are huge, the bathrooms are dual vanity, large shower, and separate bath. The indoor pool and spa is exceptional. The outdoor pool is AMAZING, the table side ordering by phone is great and beers are only 5 euro each. If drinking 5 drinks each/day this saves you $50-100 a day over American resorts. The VIEWS are gorgeous, there is no doubt you are waking up on the Adriatic coast. There is cute little restaurants along the promenade nearby, again pricing/value is exceptional in this area. Plus, it’s only a 12 euro/10-15 minute Uber ride to Dubrovnik, so you easily get the historical charm and laid back resort experience combined, perfection! We leave today for Hvar by ferry for 5-days at an AirBnB and hate to leave. Quality and value here are great, don’t hesitate to book!
