Our cabin is located on a beautiful private peninsula (1 1/2 Acres) with over 1000ft of lake frontage. It's perfectly located & close to everything: Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor: historic Castine; Blue Hill; etc.; Yet tucked away from it all, too. Cozy Maine cottage with teardrop shaped fireplace makes for a perfect lakeside get-away on one of Maine's most desirable lakes. Craig's Pond is one of Maine's Top 10 Clearest Lakes with no equals in the area. Entire glass front of cabin offers unforgettable views from every space. Built before setbacks, the front deck goes right up to the crystal-clear water (most places have to be set back hundreds of feet from the water). Spectacular views of the lake from everywhere on the property. Complete privacy & seclusion with no visible neighbors allows for the solitude and serenity Maine is known for. Pet friendly. Everything you need for an unforgettable holiday in Vacationland. P.S. - Looking over listings, it's hard to tell one lake from another. Water quality, water clarity, neighbor proximity & development are hard to tell by listings or photos. Craig's Pond is considered one of the best lakes around. There are only a dozen or so total cabins on the lake and it’s not overly crowded. Our calendar fills up with return renters. Stay at our cabin and you'll see why. 100% 5-star reviews! Escape from the hustle and bustle without leaving behind modern comforts and conveniences. Watch the tides go in and out from the gourmet kitchen or rocking on the porch. Despite being privately situated on nearly 25 acres, you are still close to everything you could need. Bucksport (restaurants, groceries, boardwalk) is 5 minutes away. Acadia Nat'l Park and Bar Harbor an hour. Bangor Intl Airport is 40 minutes. Or stay home and enjoy high speed internet, lawn games and visiting wildlife. The spaceTotal privacy at the end of a quarter mile gravel driveway through nearly 25 mostly wooded acres. Near the home site there is about 2 acres of cleared land that is often visited by deer, bald eagles, and more! Enjoy a pair of rocking chairs on the side porch and roast some s'mores from the Adirondack chairs around the fire pit. Make it a point to get out at night to take in the incredible stars.Explore the property and follow the wooded trail down to the 600' of shoreline. Though swimming is not recommended here due to the mudflats we have fun collecting driftwood and taking in the ocean breezes. We spent six months remodeling the 2400 sqft house to ensure you and your guests have a comfortable stay. The master bedroom has king bed and a flat screen TV with a Roku. There is a second king bed in an oversized room that has plenty of space to roll out a yoga mat. There is an upstairs bedroom with a single twin and a downstairs bedroom with a single twin and a workspace. For us, the center of the house is the generously appointed custom kitchen. From in front of the 36" Wolf Range with a char-broiler you get 180 degree views of the property and river. A Wolf oven and Sub-Zero fridge cover the other essentials. Granite counters and a large island with seating for four the chef happy and in good company. The dining table comfortably seats six and also has fantastic views of the water. If you're feeling like cooking out doors, there's a propane grill available as well. The house is located near many wonderful excursions. Acadia National Park is just about an hour away as well as the always charming Bar Harbor. Closer by there's Castine, Blue Hill, and Belfast. Five minutes away in Bucksport there's a boardwalk that follows the Penobscot river. The Penobscot narrows bridge and Fort Knox are just about 10 minutes away. Nearby there are great lakes and parks with public beach access and extensive and boating opportunities. Our favorite seasonal restaurant in the summer is Carriers Mainely Lobster which is less than two miles away! There is a 1/2 bath downstairs and the upstairs bathroom has a large soaking tub and separate large walk in shower. While there are a lot of heads in the shower, the well doesn't provide good enough pressure to enjoy all of them at once. We've been looking into how to solve that problem. If you are bringing work with you the high-speed cable internet will let you connect to your meetings while the kids access your streaming content on the Roku's.Guest accessYou'll have access to the whole house except for a supply closet and the garage. You will also not have access to the barn, but we usually keep some of the bigger lawn games under the overhang there.About pets:No pets allowed.About checkOut:Check out before 10:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.About checkIn:Check in after 4:00 PM.About smoking:Smoking is not permitted.About minBookingAge:Minimum age to rent: 18.About events:No events allowed.
"The location and environment are very good, the water view room feels very good. It is easy to be satisfied that if you turn on the air conditioner upstairs, you will be woken up every night."
This historical building was originally built and operated as a school in the early 1900's. The Freemasons took ownership of it in the 60's and in late 2022, we purchased it to give it a new lease on life.
Lovingly restored from the ground up, we have taken what we believe are the original school rooms on the second floor and transformed them into luxury suites, catering to guests that want to enjoy where they rest and sleep as much as they are enjoying exploring the mid-coast of Maine.
The property is a lovingly restored large brick building with a grand shared entrance. Guests will need to climb a large flight of stairs with their luggage to the suites as they are all on the second floor.
On the second floor there are 3 generous suites, all available to rent as vacation rentals. They are all uniquely decorated and completely renovated.
As well as the entrance hall, there are 2 communal large hallway spaces where you may see other guests and a laundry room with a washer, dryer and ironing facilities that all guests are welcome to use.
The property is sadly not suited to children or individuals with mobility issues.
Guests are welcome to store luggage in the entrance hall downstairs if they have a late arrival or early departure to avoid disturbing other guests.
Once up the stairs there are two large hallways and a laundry room that all guests are welcome to use, though we ask that everyone is considerate of noise disturbances for other guests who may be resting.
Each suite has an individual key for use during their stay. We recommend locking your suite door when inside and when out for the day. You are welcome to leave your door key on the property if you do not feel comfortable taking it with you. Let us know if this is the case and we will tell you where to put it.
We will always respond via the inbox as soon as possible.
We do live onsite but work from home so prefer not to be disturbed in person, but you may see us coming and going and we are always happy to chat or come and assist if there is an issue with your suite.
We do retire early so any messages received after 9pm will be responded to the next day.
Bucksport, Maine is a very peaceful town right on the Penobscot river. Our property is one block away from the waterfront with its walkway, perfect for ambling along and enjoying unparalleled views of The Penosbcot Narrows Bridge and Fort Knox.
Lobster boat tours can take you out on the water, you can stand in line for the local famous ice cream take out window, grab a glass of wine in a secret little courtyard bar, buy coffee and books at the local bookstore or take in a movie, all just steps away from the property.
Bucksport is also an incredible central location for exploring Mid-coast Maine with Belfast, Bangor and Ellsworth all around 25 minutes drive, and with Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park just 35 minutes away. An easy commute to a bustling area with respite at the end of your day of exploring the rugged coast and picture perfect towns.

"This is a very nice and clean space to stay outside of Bangor. It's on the way to Bar Harbor and northern points like New Brunswick. It has decent views and old fashioned Maine rooms. Its short on local amenities- its on the road between bar harbor and ellsworth and there is little nearby except the golf course across the street. There is a small outdoor swimming pool"
