Marriott's Lakeshore Reserve

We had a wonderful stay. Love the renovated rooms at this property. Very light, bright and airy. Plenty of charging areas and outlets. The staff here is very accommodating and always willing to help. Henry at the front desk, the ladies at The Marketplace and the guys at the bar were all very friendly and helpful. We had a particularly excellent experience with Edwin from maintenance/engineering. He truly went above and beyond helping us. The Lazy River is wonderful. The water temperature was perfect…almost felt like it was slightly heated. Be prepared to purchase a floatie if you don’t already have one. They sell them in the Marketplace for about $25 and will blow them up for free with their electric inflator. The food was very good. We especially loved the breakfast sandwiches at The Marketplace and the Bowls at Blossoms. We wish they offered a wider variety of beers at both places. Sounds like that is out of the hands of the bartenders and more the responsibility of whoever does the purchasing. Only other suggestions we can make are to have music playing by the pool all the time and to ensure that the outdoor path lighting on the path around the lake is in working order. It was very dark at night going to and from the pool so we had to use a flashlight. Cannot wait to hopefully return next year.

We stayed here for a week in a one bedroom villa and it was very relaxing. This was our first visit here, since we normally stay at the Grande Vista, and it is definitely more relaxed than the Vista. I would have to say that the lazy river and pool area definitely is the biggest draw to this resort. It is smaller than most resorts we stay in and that is actually a good thing to us, since we like more peace and quiet. The one bedroom villa has everything you need while on vacation and ours was very spacious. It could easily accommodate a family of four and the balcony is pretty spacious also. The balcony is not covered and the mosquitos were pretty bad at times, so keep that in mind. The grounds and staff here are very nice and shout out to Jess and Spencer, very professional and polite. There is a short walking path to the JW and Ritz and the resort is beautiful when lit up at night. We highly recommend this place for a nice and relaxing vacation and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Safe travels

I was so excited to try Marriott Lakeside! We usually stay at the JW Marriott next door but wanted to stay in a larger place. I was disappointed that I was not given any on my Marriott member perks at any time during our visit. We were not allowed to check in until 4:00. We had lunch on property, it was just awful and terribly expensive. We tried to eat at the JW but they charge $50 for a day pass to even eat a the restaurant even though we are staying on property! Finally getting into our room, it smelled like the guests before us had cooked fish and curry. The smell was HORRIBLE! It was too late to change rooms due to the very late check in and we had plans for the evening. The beds and pillows are rocks hard and the decor is dated. I woke up with a terrible head ache from not getting any sleep. I asked for a later check out, another Marriott Member perk, but was denied that as well. Housekeeping began knocking at the door at 9:50. I am furious that I wasted my time, money and most of all, my points to stay here a total of 17 hours. Move on, try another place!

My husband, daughter and I just spent a week at Lakeshore Reserve and had a wonderfully relaxing experience. The grounds are beautiful and the pool area was so nice. There are ample seating areas scattered throughout the pool and lawn and we were able to find seats no matter what time we came to the pool. The waterslides were a big hit with all of us and our seven year old loved them. Part of the pool had a lazy river area with fountains that was so beautiful. There were also lots of outdoor activities like a pool table, ping pong, foosball, cornhole and giant connect four. The food at the restaurant was very good and the bartenders were super responsive. The family activities were fun and the kids room had a Switch and lots of puzzles and board games. We were able to watch the fireworks at the JW Marriott from the pool area. The resort is in a great location about 20 minutes from the airport. My daughter is already asking when we can go back!

We have been to this resort at least 9 times. 7 times this resort was amazing so we had high expectations for our 7 day stay. Five stars for the Blossoms bar - the staff was fantastic - friendly, helpful and fast. If you aren’t up for going out, the Blossoms menu is adaptable for GF sensitivities and food is very good. Pool Music was not relaxing it was loud fast paced dance music ALL day - However, when we mentioned it, it was toned down and some and the selections changed. The pool was filthy - many, many leaves in the water ...all week. The waterfall was often off and the water level was below the intake vents so there was no way the water could be filtered. A family we were chatting with said they called. We called about it ourselves the next day. Three days in and the water level was still too low to filter water. Friday the same. Then we called to ask if water was tested and were told 1X/day; miraculously that night, the water level rose enough to be filtered. Could the ridiculously high points vacation club owners pay for end of week stays be a factor in the improvement at the end of the week? Unsure Groups of employees do not speak English. When approached, they sometimes ignore there is a customer there and continue speaking to each other in their language, laughing etc.. then abruptly stop, turn and look at the customer. This is not isolated and not personal. Some grounds workers are not considerate; a few guests hope to sleep past 8am on the weekend. Loud talking, podcasts, radio etc wake up the people they are serving. Bathroom vanities are still the right height for people 6' or taller. Our room was updated but after a decade the walls are still void of mirrors, hooks or shelves.

This is our 2nd visit this year and our 5th time overall. I feel the need to express what a wonderful time we have had again. The lovey guy who had our cases taken to our room as we had checked in early. The beautiful clean smelling reception that you walk into. The gorgeous manicured gardens. The room was immaculate, this time we went with a larger room. Stunning and great job by the lovely cleaners. And finally the pool area as always is an oasis that takes away any stress and tension from your every day life. Big shout out to Spencer / great friendly barman. So a big thank you to all the staff . Hopefully back next May
