We arrived at the hotel very skeptical as there are a mix of good and bad reviews. We booked cheap and cheerful so wasn't expecting the world. The hotel itself is very clean and all members of staff were friendly. Most knew basic English or found a colleague who could help if need be. The package we had included the waterpaper over the road which the kids enjoyed. It wasn't too busy but there was only one bar open which meant there were delays in getting food and drink. The buffet was good with a selection of meats, fish, pasta and lost fo salad, cold meats and cheese. The entertainment in the evening wasn't what we expected and we only ventured over twice. The rest of the time we chose to stay in the cafe/bar, playing cards and making our own entertainment. We booked onto the Games Room (says €12pp but depending on package you get a discount €3pp) and the kids enjoyed it. Overall we were happy with the holiday. It was near the beach, the food was good, we had access to the pools/slides and any issues we're dealt with quickly. It was still out of season for us so lots wasn't available and there are a few of the neighbouring Magic hotels that are being renovated so construction everywhere but overall very happy.

Absolutely terrible!!! I was thinking about changing hotels before we went because of the reviews but then saw a good one so thought I’d give it a try. Worst mistake ever. Booked an all inclusive package which ONLY includes food and drink. So my kids were not able to access any of the entertainment or water parks, half of which were closed anyway. But if I could have got them in I would have needed to pay extra. I asked for a room with an Xbox and got a PS5 with no controller. I asked and they told me they would send one up. They didn’t so I asked again and they said you have to pay a €100 deposit for it! I paid it because there was NOTHING for the kids to do. The photo’s are NOT OF THE HOTEL. They are the things on the resort that you need to pay extra for and you can book anyway unless ultra all inclusive and you’ll be lucky if they’re open. They were 2 hours late cleaning our room so we were stuck all day. There was actual human poop walked all over the floor, the tiniest pool ever which is completely in shade from 11am and the resort is derelict with dead cats on the streets! Then I tried to get my deposit back for the controller and they said I paid on a different card as I sat and showed them the screen shot of the payment. The guy went to speak to a manager 3 times and when I asked to speak to him he said he wasn’t there 😂 I refused to move and he came out and said the bank must have changed my card details and there was nothing he could do. TERRIBLE RESORT, TERRIBLE SERVICE, DO NOT BOOK IF YOU WANT A FAMILY HOLIDAY.

The worst place we have ever stayed! Food was inedible no staff speak English even tho it states this on there website! It's part of a big chain in the area and we were told everything would be open when we arrived well it was not it was a ghost town! Construction works started outside our hotel at 6am while we were there but the hotel has said it nothing to do with them which is lies as its a hotel across the road from the same chain! Currently trying to complain or get some kind of compensation from love holidays! We spent a full week of misery here

We were close to cancelling our stay at Hotel Magic Games after reading some of the recent negative reviews. Decided to judge for ourselves, and we're glad we did. The hotel turned out to be great, especially for our five year old. There’s a free water park just across the road, which was a big hit. We also had access to other nearby hotels with activities, and the games console in our room was a nice touch to keep our little one entertained while we got ready. We booked the all inclusive option. The food was average, but we always left the restaurant full. Drinks were unlimited and included branded alcohol, plus the coffee by the pool in the morning was surprisingly good. Staff didn’t speak perfect English, but communication was never an issue. The only real negative was the distance from the airport. Public transport cost us around £30 for the three of us on the way there. On the way back, we took a taxi which came to £140. Overall, it’s a good place to stay. Don’t be put off by the negative reviews. We’ll be back.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel, starting with the fact that the staff didn’t speak English — which is unacceptable for a place aimed at tourists. When we arrived, the receptionist couldn’t understand us. The room was extremely small (I should have paid more attention to that when making my reservation), the breakfast had no variety of fruits, and the bread was cold and hard. My main reason for booking this hotel was the promise of attractions for children. However, when I arrived, I was surprised to find that nearly half of those attractions were closed. The water park, playground, and kids’ area didn’t even have an outdoor space to keep my two children entertained. I had to look for things to do on my own. If I hadn’t rented a car, this experience would have been even worse. It’s not about the off-season — today is May 27, and people are already starting to travel. They should consider the month of May and LIST WHICH ATTRACTIONS ARE CLOSED on their website (and booking platforms). Don’t waste your time and money on this place.

Staff are lovely, rooms are spacious. However the food is terrible, undercooked meats, dry rice, dry burgers, often burnt chips. We have been here 10 days & tried all the different foods available and the only thing that was edible consistently was the spaghetti. The dining room gets super crowded at all meal times, 2 nights we were unable to get dinner due to the fact that by the time we made the front of the que dinner was over & staff were cleaning away. The majority of the resort wasn’t open & a LOT of the resort was a building site, same with the beach. There is not much around. A few restaurants and a couple of shops. The ‘magic hall’ where the ‘entertainment’ is, is easily missable due to it being so small. The entertainment for children is a 30 minute disco from 19:00-19:30 other than that there is nothing. There is no activities around the pool. You can not use all the services such as the beach club unless you pay for ultra all inclusive. You are told that if you stay longer than 4 nights, you get a free meal in one of the themed restaurants however it’s actually only for stays after the 21st of June, no where when booking does it specify it’s only during selected months. The TV is Spanish and they do not tell you how to change this. We had an Xbox in our room which didn’t work as it didn’t even connect to the hotels own WiFi. There is absolutely no public transport. No taxis, no busses & the train station is a 30 minute walk from the hotel, trains are not very frequent either.

Weve just got back from magic games oropesa del mar, and this will be one of the most honest reviews on here. English family of 4 ages 7 and 14. Rooms are standard but clean, if you want luxury rooms this hotel isnt for you but who really spends that much time in the room. Plenty of room for 4 though. Room had ps5 and arcade machine but some instructions would be helpful. Food is great, plenty to go around, clean and variety and all you can eat. Facilities are great for october, they are working on the resort but theres a splash park our kids loved with slides and pools and for cooler days magic sports around the corner has a indoor pool aswell as the outside splash park. Not everything is open but its not the busy period. Entertainment was great and fun in the evenings, maybe a change up during the week but its free and they free pour the drinks our 7 year old loved it. On Halloween they had a parade and spooky maze with live actors so they was great too. On other reviews the spanish are mentioned as in theres alot of them. Think like its where the spanish go on holiday like we would go to caravan parks in cornwall or devon. If a spanish family go to a holiday park in england do we speak spanish? After a couple of days it no longer fazes you and we were treated just the same. In a few years time once all the resort is finished it will really be something

My recent experience at the Magic Games Hotel was overwhelmingly negative. The advertised amenities and surrounding attractions initially seemed promising, but the reality was far from it. The closure of numerous local amenities was a major drawback, severely limiting our options and enjoyment. The fact that advertised water parks and spas were also closed "until further notice" (without prior notification) only compounded the disappointment. This isn't a case of temporary setbacks; the core offerings seem fundamentally unsustainable. Service inconsistencies were also a problem. While some reception staff seemed unable to handle simple requests (such as operating the room safe), and excursion representatives were unhelpful, I do want to express my gratitude. A few exceptional staff members went out of their way to assist us and improve our stay. Their efforts were genuinely appreciated, but ultimately couldn't compensate for the hotel's underlying issues. Adding insult to injury, our travel agent incorrectly stated that there was nothing to do without a car, claiming the nearest tourist town (Valencia) was an hour and a half drive away. We later discovered a train, but were unable to check the schedule beforehand. This resulted in a two-hour wait in the sun upon arrival, with nothing to do in the immediate vicinity. The subsequent one hour and 45-minute train journey to Valencia only allowed us two hours in the city, due to the inconvenient train timetable, which would have resulted in a very late return to the hotel. The "games" aspect of this hotel was also a significant letdown. The Xbox in our double room was supplied with a controller lacking batteries, and only one controller at that, with no two-player games available. The PlayStation consoles downstairs were poorly managed, locked at odd hours, and offered a meager selection of only about four games. When we inquired about the location of the games museum, the staff didn't even know what floor it was on, and upon finding it, we discovered it contained very few artifacts, despite the branding suggesting otherwise. This is extremely disappointing for a hotel that brands itself as games-themed. In conclusion, the Magic Games Hotel does have the potential to be a great destination. It is targeted towards the wrong audience. I'd strongly advise checking very carefully about what's actually open and available before even considering a booking. It's unfortunate, as the few helpful staff did go above and beyond
