Potamia Cave Suites

As I write this review, I already find myself missing this place deeply. Staying at Potamia Cave Suites House was truly the best decision I could have made. There are three main reasons why I feel this way: First, the host. I’ve traveled all over the world, but I’ve never met a host as wonderful as him. He goes above and beyond to offer the best hospitality, and his kindness and thoughtfulness bring genuine happiness to every guest. Cappadocia itself is, of course, an incredible place—but next time, I will return not only for the destination, but to see him again. Second, the experience of Cappadocia here is both authentic and peaceful. While many sources recommend staying in Göreme, I must say that it has become quite crowded and lively—sometimes overwhelmingly so. If you want to truly appreciate the calm, authentic charm of Cappadocia, I strongly recommend staying in Ortahisar, where you can enjoy the beauty of the region in a serene and clean environment. Third, the location. While it’s true that staying in Göreme allows you to walk to some tourist spots, Ortahisar and Potamia Cave Suites House are just a 10-minute taxi ride away from the center. Personally, I believe it’s best to stay in a peaceful, beautiful area like this to truly rest and soak in the Cappadocian atmosphere—and simply visit Göreme for sightseeing when needed. Thank you so much for everything. I’ll be sending a personal message as well, but I truly hope that those considering a stay here will read this review and be encouraged to experience this amazing place for themselves.

Had an excellent 3-day stay in this hotel. Location and rooms - all overcame my expectations. Turkish breakfast was really good, too. The view there is just unreal. I’d spend whole 3 days chilling on one of the many beautiful terraces if not for the other beauties of Cappadocia. The host was very helpful and welcoming, too. Already wish to come there again ❤️

Stayed @ Potamia Cave Suites in April 2025 and that was one of the greatest add ons of my trip.Excellent location - cleanliness- superb ambience-extra mile service provided by the owner and the entire staff team. Many thanks for making my stay memorable.

Ahmet is an amazing hostess, in an amazing location and unique place to stay in the caves! He does a nice homemade breakfast in a very cozy place which I definitely recommend! Sure i want to go again! The scenery is unique and you can collect memories which will be unforgettable!!Well done Ahmet, see you again xx

I am SO happy that I discovered this amazing boutique hotel, run by a very charming, friendly, helpful and hospitable man called Ahmed. This is a family driven small hotel with only 8 rooms, and you can feel the personal touch to the hotel the minute you step into it. The cave rooms are amazing, each of them unique and beautifully decorated. When you step out of the room, you get a spectacular view to the valley, with old cave houses from previous settlements and of course the pigeon houses that Cappadocia is famous for. And all this right outside your room. It is truly amazing! There are a lot of different cozy sitting areas in the hotel, each with a different view, and you can always find a private spot, which I really appreciated. The hotel breakfast is simple, but very nice. And the owner actually made the most delicious pastry himself for us in the morning. The hotel is located in the small and quiet town Ortahisar, only 10 min drive from the much more touristic and busy town Goreme. I feel lucky to have found this place, and I can really recommend it. I am a small Norwegian tour operator, and I have now decided to book this hotel for my guests when I go to Cappadocia!

What an amazing place! Away from all the touristy noise this beautifully decorated hotel in this stunning scenery is just breathtaking. The host is super nice and very helpful to any question you might have. The cave rooms are clean and the breakfast very nice. Clearly 10 out of 10👌🏼
