Namba Oriental Hotel

Location, location, location! Hotel located just inside Namba Center. And Lawson just downstair of hotel. Enjoyed the complimentary access to guest lounge with free flow of drinks/alcohol & snacks, + pancakes. Also free laundry service with detergent. And free vacuumed pack service if you have a lot things to bring home. And free storage for luggages, and free rental of umbrellas during the rainy days. Downside: rundown room with smelled carpet. But overall still great experience.

Excellent location（close to shops，restos，n stations）～ Great amenities（free refreshments，laundry）～  Carpet was a worn out n no in room safe～ but will sure be back next time～

Pros - Superb Location Near to Namba station, Shinsaibashi, Dotonbori and many restaraunts etc - Provided free welcome Lounge from 2-10pm item includes Free Sake,Beer, Whisky, Soft drinks and snacks like taco chips, pancake Cons -Lobby looks new and renovated but all the rooms are so unfurnished and outdated with multiple defects such as obvious long hairline cracks on the ceiling , sofas with stains , Old LCD TV not smart TV, - The worst of all is the aircon unit as it is told by the receptionist it’s a old hotel so the aircon cannot be controlled as it’s the building aircon hence the ventilation can be hot at times especially in the middle of the night and the feedback from receptionist was to open the window in the room balcony. - The Room Balcony window is connected on the same floor to the next door rooms hence no privacy if windows are open as they can be walk over freely with no restrictions. -2nd the windows at the balcony are faced towards or directly opposite the lift lobby and the occupant from the lifts can see directly into the room if the windows are open and curtains not closed so opening the window for better ventilation is not really the ideal option. - Only one receptionist deserve the praise as she offered to supply a fan if we deem the room is too hot as she explain it’s an old hotel building. - Lastly we stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and return 1 more night after Kyoto trip , the receptionist told us the room was not ready at 330pm upon check in on our last day of the trip and told us to wait for 10mins which seems ridiculous as we are chase out from the rooms before 11am for check in but they did not fulfil their part by allowing us to check in at 3pm instead of close to 4pm the room is then ready for. - Lastly beware of Huge Mosquito in the hotel rooms before we even open the windows there is already a huge mosquito waiting for us in the room upon checking in.

I wanted to book 5 nights the price is quite high but I booked 2 nights only surprising the 2 nights rate was reasonable. The laundry area and free snack for travellers is great and plus point for happy traveller! Thumb up

Nice location, having baggage storage and the guest lounge. Room is big enough comparing with most of hotels around in the same range. 🚫 non smoking room still smell cigarette everywhere in the floor and room

Location is good, but overall a very disappointing stay. When we checked in, the front desk staff were quite rude and unhelpful. Despite indicating that we wanted non-smoking rooms, we were given smoking rooms that smelled terrible. All three rooms we booked were very smelly and not properly cleaned. Another issue was the water supply, only 2 small bottles of mineral water were provided for our entire 2-night stay. When we needed more drinking water, we discovered there was no phone in the room to contact reception. The only phone available was a shared phone near the elevator on each floor, and nobody ever picked up when we tried calling. We had to walk down to the counter late at night, only to find no staff present. In the end, we had to buy water outside at midnight. Additionally, the hair dryer in one of our rooms was broken. This is far below what you would expect from a 4-star hotel. Overall, the poor service and lack of basic amenities made this a very bad experience. Definitely oversold and not recommended.
