Hot spring Hotels in Otaru

We absolutely loved this ryokan experience! Stayed for 2d1n as a couple and absolutely loved the place! We booked the room with the private onsen and it was a lovely small space on the 2nd floor we could enjoy privately. The onsen is not too big, maybe 1.5 x 1.5 meters, but it was spacious for the two of us. We also found out that you can book a 45 minute slot for a separate private onsen for about ¥2200, which we may have done instead, had we known about it before booking. The japanese-style room was comfortable and had the usual amenities provided, alongside other nice additions like lotions and creams. The staff helped us to set up our futon (japanese-style bed) after dinner, and it was overall a very comfortable experience. The staff are super friendly and service was incredible. We got the dinner and breakfast package and the food was excellent. We had to choose both the dinner slot in advance, and it is first-come-first-serve. Dinner was served to us in the room over 1.5h and was a really amazing 12-course meal with instructions on the eating order. Breakfast was more standard, but still nice, we took it in the dining hall. The lounge is open till 10pm and we could take drinks and refreshment freely, including some small snacks and soft drinks. But they stop serving beer at 9pm. The onsens also have mini-fridges with free popsicles. There is also an outside area you can access from 3pm - 9pm that serves hot coffee and wine, with free marshmallows you can roast on the outside firepit. It was really nice. The garden is by far the nicest part of the hotel, it is really big and well decorated, with many nice places for photos and to enjoy a hot drink from the lounge. The space is quite large and might take about 20 minutes to fully explore. The only downside I can think of is that the location is quite hard to access. We chose to get to and from the ryokan by taxi, but there is also a shuttle bus service, from what I understand. When we arrived, the reception told us that there would be a shuttle bus leaving at 10:45 to Otaruchikko station. We still ended up requesting a taxi from the front desk though, which they were happy to help us book (I couldn't get any taxis by cab in the location). Overall a really amazing stay that we would absolutely recommend. The price tag might seem high for a ”3 star” hotel, but the ranking is deceptive, we absolutely had a 5 star experience. I booked a dbl room during winter trip and didn't want to haul my luggage in the freezing snow. Very convenient and literally acrosss the street from otaru station. Room is a bit old and small but I don't mind. Bathroom is clean. Towel is clean. Pillow is a bit small. Onsen was great. Lobby served fresh grounded coffee all day and night. 1 min walk to Lawson for late night cravings.

Will stay here again if I visit there, Recommended call a taxi to the hotel, street is slippery and take a while for a walk but worth to stay, th view and location is perfect for the carnal

I stayed here on a trip with my girlfriend whom I hadn't seen in a long time. We came by car from Sapporo, and it was close to Otaru city, so there was a parking lot and it was easy to access. My first impression was that it was luxurious for the price, and for a moment I thought I had come to the wrong hotel. The room we stayed in was on the top floor, the 8th floor, and it was clean and had a great view. For dinner, we had the 2,800 yen sashimi set meal. Everything was fresh and delicious. I was impressed by the garnish (like collagen) that I had never seen before. There were two types of hot springs, and the open-air bath was especially good, but There was only enough space for two people to sit, both inside and outside, so it was disappointing that there was no place to relax after the sauna. In the end, there were so many people that I couldn't sit down after the cold bath, so I just sat in the area to wash my body. I wish they had more chairs. My trip with my girlfriend became a good memory. Thank you.

I booked two nights, the price is less than 200 per night, and the Otaru Hotel during the Snow Festival is more than 800+, so I chose a warm youth hostel. The person in charge is an old lady. You will find her humor and enthusiasm when you communicate with her. If there is no one at the front desk, you can ring the bell. You need to leave the key at the front desk when you check out. The second floor can be connected to the bathhouse on the first floor (I didn’t go because it seems to be an independent business bathhouse, and my roommate likes to go there); If you are assigned to a double room as shown in the picture, you are lucky because you will live very comfortably. My roommate is of the same country and the same sex, and we chatted like friends; If you are assigned to a quadruple room, then you will experience a rich youth hostel life. The roommates are men and women from all over the world. It is easy to communicate in a narrow environment. Everyone is very quiet and you don’t have to worry about your sleep problem. But there is indeed a smell that is not like 🦶 air for two days. I can’t tell the difference. There is a burning thing in the room (it seems to be an air purifier) ​​that can solve this smell. The interesting thing about this youth hostel is that it is like a blind box. You don’t know what you will encounter.

The service is very good. We will call a taxi to Otaru Chikko Station for free. Dinner and breakfast are both exquisite and rich. The guest room is about 60 square meters, and there is an independent private hot spring room where you can take a bath at any time. The weather was too cold so I didn't go to the public hot spring pool. The room can see the entire Otaru Port, perfect score💯! Highly recommended!

There was no problem with the ryokan itself, but the site is really the worst. Obviously, I searched and made a reservation for 4 adults and 2 children, but 2 children were omitted, making me spend 200,000 won more. Even in other hotels, 4 adults and 2 children were missing, but 2 adults and 1 child were missing????? I also missed a child who paid a fee, and even when I came here, I think I spent about 400,000 won more. What is the use case for reserving a double room for one person based on common sense??????? It's really the worst and all I can think about is that they're stealing our money. I will never use this site again.

I thought it was very old just by looking at the photos on the official website, but I didn't expect that the hot spring tub on the balcony has been updated. The interior is also very neat and clean, and the kitchen equipment is also very complete. You can buy firewood to keep warm at night, the atmosphere is great, and the children had a great time experiencing firewood for the first time. The semi-open-air hot spring is also very comfortable. The quilts and beds are very clean and have no odor. The kitchen is also very well organized and not greasy. The child said that he would go again if there is a chance in the future. Awesome 👏

The room was pretty good. I stayed here for two days. I went back to Otaru City one day, skied the other day, and took a hot spring bath at night. There is an izakaya called Xiliu nearby. The food is very good. I drank a little wine and took a hot spring bath every day before going to bed. It was very comfortable~ The ski resort is very good, not many people, the snow is very powdery, and all equipment can be bought/rented. Beginners can go there to play empty-handed.
