Stayed at Sho Inn for 1 night in Otaru. It’s a little out of the way from the Otaru station if you do not drive, but they offer shuttle service to the Otaru Canal and Otaru station when you check out! The host Hideshi was incredibly kind, even going the extra mile to bring my neck pillow, which I had accidentally left in the accommodation after check out, to the Otaru station at my preferred time that evening. It was a gesture testament of the great hospitality of the Japanese. Would definitely recommend this place especially if you’re a solo traveller / prefer your own private space instead of going to those hostels with double deckered beds and curtains!

A very, very good capsule hotel. The owner picked me up at the JR station and also picked up another friend of mine. We don't live together. Every time I go out, the store will send me a message asking if I need pick-up. The uncle is a very warm-hearted person, which is very nice. I gave my uncle a small Christmas gift before leaving, I was very happy🥳

I booked this for my trip to Otaru. It's quite a walk up a hill from Otaru Station and Minami Otaru Station, but it's about a 20-minute walk from Tenguyama, so it was a good location for me who wanted to see the night view.
There were many toilets and showers compared to the number of rooms, and it was generally clean and nice. I thought it was great that there was a microwave and refrigerator, and that the washing machine and dryer were free of charge.
However, there are no amenities such as razors or toothbrushes, so you need to prepare them.
There are supermarkets and convenience stores nearby, so it's a good idea to do your shopping in advance.
Although it was at the last minute, they arranged for me to be picked up and dropped me off, which was very helpful.

mini, cute, a little cramped but a brand new experience, overall I feel good. The facilities are complete, neat, clean and comfortable. My dad is a nice person. It rained in Otaru the morning I left. I made an appointment to drop off at the JR station the next day, which was very punctual. On the day of arrival, I changed buses at Minami-Otaru Station. I personally feel that it is more convenient to change buses at Otaru JR Station. For reference. It is very close to Tengu Mountain. After watching the night view, we took the bus down the mountain for 2 stops and walked back to the hotel for less than 1 kilometer. Although there were not many pedestrians on the road at night, it was still safe. I passed by a convenience store and bought dinner to heat up. There are also simple meals at the front desk of the B&B. You can microwave them for a fee to solve the problem.
