La Sultana Oualidia

Magical retreat. Stunning setting on a lagoon with amazing bird life only a short boat ride to dramatic Atlantic coast. Unsurprised service. Seafood so fresh. The picnic on beach is other worldly. The accommodation was a step back in time with luxury and comfort. Hospitality at every encounter. Hanna and Omyma assured our every request was met.

The best getaway for a peaceful, spoiling and restful holiday. The bedroom was luxurious and everything had been carefully thought about. Excellent food in gorgeous surroundings. Ask the lovely Hannan at breakfast what you want and she will make sure everything is to your liking. Lunch outside with stunning views over the bay, beach combers and walk along the jetty for a cocktail before supper. The dining room is glass roofed with exotic fish tanks along one wall. Beautiful location with stunning gardens on the estuary with crashing Atlantic waves rolling in. Amazing bird life. The spa was incredible with a hammam and all spa treatments. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel - expensive but worth every penny.

The setting of the hotel is exceptional! I loved to watch the slow progression of the tide in and out of the lagoon with wading birds following the tide line. The gardens are beautifully tended...flowers everywhere! The staff are delightfully attentive and are a great credit to the management. I would love to return...fingers crossed.

If it is possible to give a six star rating I would. LA Sultana @ Oualidia was truly remarkable. The hotel sits on property that is hard to image is only for guests of 11 rooms total. The grounds are sprawling and you really feel the space is all just for you. Situated on a tidal lagoon, the bird wildlife is amazing. The oysters harvested from the lagoon are top notch and we have never had fresher. The service is impeccable, that kind of service that is never in your face or feeling even a bit stuffy but whenever you may need something someone just magically appears. Can not wait to return!

This place is about 3 hours from Marrakesh and the hotel had organised our travel by Tahiti Luxury services (Mohamed) @tahiriluxuryservices but definitely worth it if you want a quiet relaxing hotel. Its residence has only 12 unique rooms, you are greeted by a beautiful cast iron gate that then takes you to a floral manicured walkway to reception. The feel is almost Grecian Arabic with a little Hamptons for good measure. The receptionist Omyma could not have done enough, you are given a butler mobile phone so they can be contacted and can organise anything you wish. We had a quick tour round which consisted also of seeing the wonders of the sea they had caught in air rated baskets so your lunch or dinner is a fresh as coming out the sea at that moment. Our room had a jacuzzi courtyard, large room, large sitting area, huge wardrobe. You can't help but feel the beautiful calm tranquility about the place but did not feel stuffy or like I had arrived at a place I did not know, it felt weirdly comfortable like I had been before or very homely. The Spa and Gym are inside a grotto type setting almost carved out inside the landscape of the building. The Spa has a heated pool and Jacuzzi, Sauna, and steam rooms for Hammam. You can also do any activity you desire there too, kayaking, fishing, bird watching, bike riding and horse riding to name but a few. The food: If you love fish this is the right place for you, the simplest of food dishes they add simple herbs and spices, absolutely beautiful! They also have traditional dishes, pasta with spider crab or Rock Lobster. The pool wouldn't look out of place in Thailand, with the Bali carved cabanas draped in white linen and cushions piped in teals and blues. I could go on and on. My closure gesture would be that like all these places they would not be as good without the staff and I've got to say they have the loveliest from Omyma at reception - Hussain at the pool bar - Hanana at breakfast with her great smile, Abdul , thank you for looking after us for the activities. Rafi at Dinner. Also last of all but didn't get his name who let us stay in the room until we left. Thank you. Most certainly be back.

La Sultana was a beautiful place. Unfortunately for us it was a rainy stay. But the indoor pool was a wonderful alternative. Hot tub could've been hotter. Because of the massive amount of rain, we had some water come in our room We were relocated to a suite and had other compensation. So that was great. The one thing that I didn't like was that you basically had to go outside to get to every place on the property. Because of the rain it was an inconvenience. But overall a really nice stay.
