Klein Karoo Game Lodge

Absolutely loved this place. Travelled as a family of 5, one of which is only 6 months old. We were all mesmerised by the beauty of the landscape and of course the stunning animals. The lodge was wonderfully equipped with everything you need for your stay. The photos in fact didn’t do it justice. It was incredibly clean and comfortable. The braai area was perfect for entertaining. The breakfast was lovely, unfortunately we didn’t stay long enough for an evening meal in the restaurant. The staff were all very attentive. Johann and Nicky couldn’t do enough for us. They even gave a birthday gift to our 5 year old birthday girl which she was absolutely over the moon about. Such a peaceful and beautiful family stay, memories we will treasure forever; we hope to be back!

Excellent accommodation and service from staff. Swimming pool is a must in the summer heat and bring along a boardgame if you don't have a vehicle for going for a game drive.

Warning!!! Deposit is not reimbursed even when booking is canceled well in advance (month before) ! No reply via mail, phone calls are not answered! Do not book this accommodation since it can not be trusted! Send several mails without any reply, try to call...phone is not answered...text excuses that phone can not be answered.

Due to misguidance in the information while booking, the host agreed upon paying back half of the amount that we payed for a full stay, while we did not sleep there and left to stay somewhere else. We thought this was a really nice gesture and agreed. We would still be paying half, but that was our choice. We trusted this man and took him on his word. It seemed like a nice encounter. The host never payed us back and now discusses that he promised to do so. All our stays during our trip in South Africa we rated 9 or 10, but in this case we decided to put a bad review up. Please note the following before booking here: Wifi is available only in the reception area (so actually not at all) and the heaters in the chalets are dangerous and should not be used in small spaces ( manufacturers manual states the chance of carbon monoxide poisoning).

Come to see by foot (!) plenty game (girafe, antilopes, ostriches....). Feeding time is 0800 and 1600, a must to be there. If very hot, then rooms are likely better than chalets, as they are thedged roofed. Pool is great, restaurant is a must and excellent. WLAN only at restaurant (which is actually positive!!). We'll be back!.
