Casa Al Carmine

structure in a building located on the 4th and 5th floor, quiet, clean and excellently positioned for walking around the city center. A beautiful and large terrace overlooking Padua. Good breakfast with plenty available. The staff very kind and helpful. We checked in after hours with a very kind manager who told us a little about the history of Padua, making us even more curious, as well as giving us precise information on both the places to see and the restaurants in the area, having arrived late in the evening.

We had planned to stay at Casa al Carmine in Padua for one night as an interesting stopover on the way through. The walk from the train station to the hotel was approximately 10 minutes. Due to its location on the edge of the city center, it is quite quiet at night, but the old town is not far away. The entrance was a little unusual and the long and sober corridors suggest that the building was originally used as a dormitory or youth hostel, as does the rather simple decoration of our room. But this was spacious and, in addition to a very comfortable bed, also had a balcony with a beautiful view of the city. There is also a surrounding terrace on the top floor, which gives the hotel a very attractive touch. We felt very comfortable and would check into Casa al Carmine again.

Spacious, clean, quiet room. We reached the Scrovegni chapel in about 15 minutes on foot and then from there to the centre, but it is possible to move by public transport starting from the stop in via Giotto, a stone's throw from the b&b. Abundant and varied breakfast, in my opinion nothing was missing. Friendly and very helpful staff. Paid parking inside the courtyard, no limited traffic area. Supermarket within walking distance. Possibility of using the common kitchen and fridge (there was no mini fridge in our room), which however we didn't need.

The compliment I have to pay is the terrace, there are sofas, armchairs and tables to sit there and relax or smoke while looking at a wonderful view. Paid internal parking is an extra point that cannot be discussed. It concerns the structure, unfortunately it is a NI to almost NO. There is no indication or sign from the outside so it is difficult to find it, in Padua many streets are one-way so I walked around for half an hour with the navigator telling me I had arrived but there is no way to see it and I had to call to find out where it is. The reception is on the 4th floor, the whole structure looked like a nursing home rather than a hotel. The location is so-so because there aren't many restaurants around if you have to dine, but thanks to the help of Tripadvisor: find nearby restaurants and with a walk of about 20 minutes, there is something or the alternative is to go to the center. The door to my room (501) did not close with the keys, they explained their security system to me when I arrived, theoretically the door does not open from the outside if it makes 2 turns from inside or when it closes with the keys if it goes out , I locked it with the keys when I went out to the terrace and returned to the room, it opened by itself without using the keys, I couldn't sleep peacefully all night, then the room is very hot and the pillows are too soft that I had to hold on to both of them to sleep, I was alone, if they were a couple I don't know how they could sleep...well...if it doesn't have any demands it would be fine for a short stay (I slept for only 1 night ) to visit the city.
