Amber House Hotel

I had a great stay at Amber House for a couple of nights with my son. We were given a cosy, comfortable room with a fantastic view of the coast. There was a decent sized TV in there which came with a DVD player built in - which may not seem relevant but Amber House has hundreds of DVDs for all different tastes in various bookcases around the hotel, and made for a nice way to either start the morning or end the day for my son. The breakfast is next level as well, a good selection of cold options, but the cooked breakfasts were incredible. Good portion sizes, quality local ingredients and a very warm and inviting room to enjoy it all in. The staff at the hotel are also all incredible people, who welcomed us with open arms and ensured every facet of our stay was as great as it could possibly have been. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough, and am looking forward to returning for my next stay!

Wonderful 2 days stay at Amber house, all your needs catered for, spotless, breakfast perfect, so much choice and all local produce. Mark and staff very welcoming. Set in a quiet area with lovely private gardens, 10 mins walk into Paignton and Goodrington sands. Bus routes were really good £7 each day saver, we went from Babbacombe to Brixham on the bus.

Family of four stayed in Rock Pool for 3 nights. Fantastic that the kids were in a separate room means everyone has their own space. Incredibly clean and welcoming - lovely bathroom with big walk in shower very powerful always hot water. Beds comfortable. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order (eat as much as you like which I did!) The owners are very friendly and very approachable - there’s a garden to sit in and an honesty bar should you wish to use them and you can pay cash or tot it up at the end of your stay. All in all the whole family had a lovely stay and would come again if we ever visit the area again. Thanks Amber House!

The owners have put so much thought into the room. From the excellent local notes to comprehensive TV instructions everything has been thought of. A really nice friendly atmosphere as well. We loved our stay

Amazing views, beautiful place. Feels like a home from home. The place sells itself with spacious well decorated rooms, great views, and short walk to the beach, but its the owners that make the place special. They go out if their way to make you feel very welcome. Will always make this out first choice when staying in Devon.

Currently enjoying a 2 night stay at the amber house in Paignton and it’s been utterly fantastic - I cannot begin to describe how great our stay has been. The rooms are spotlessly clean and has the most amazing shower with buckets of hot water, lovely fluffy towels and all the amenities you could ask for including fully stocked toiletries selection, hairdryer, tea and coffee. There is a breakfast menu with a wide variety to suit all tastes and dietary needs and was cooked beautifully - I had eggs Benedict which was lovely and would highly recommend. We have come to celebrate my mums birthday and her room had the most amazing view and she has been throughly spoilt with surprises left for her to help her celebrate 🥰 The hotel is very dog friendly and our dog Walt, was made to feel very welcomed and loved, he received lots of fuss and cuddles and his food has been kept refrigerated which is a massive help. Finally I just wanted to say a big thank you to our hosts. There just aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful, Debbie, Vivian, Paul and Mark have been. They are literally the 4 nicest people you could ever wish to meet. They are sooooo accommodating, friendly and welcoming and I cannot thank them enough for making my mums birthday so special and making us feel so very welcomed. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here when visiting Paignton again and cannot recommend them and their lovely accommodation enough! Thank you from Debbie, Mike, Linda, Terry, Helen and Walt xxx
