Came to Palencia because this is the place my ancestors were from but saying that, I had no idea what to expect, this part of Spain isn't one that is well known to British tourists who are more used to places like Mallorca, The Canaries, Alicante and the Costa del Sol so with saying all that - Palencia has been an amazing revelation - a beautiful little city with very nice people and with that - this hotel was part of that - a nice room, a superb shower! It was like having a shower under a waterfall, friendly receptionists who could speak great English and were very helpful - if you are deciding to give Palencia a go then I say go! You'll love it and if you do, stay at this hotel, a short walk away from the Plaza Mayor and the old town and by the river - it's five stars for me!

Centrally situated between the river and the Cathedral this is a perfectly decent hotel which offers a comfortable, clean room with good WiFi and secure underground parking for the fair price of €89 per night. Breakfast was good and served by competent and friendly staff. Being woken at 7.20 by the astonishingly noisy street/drain cleaners is something we could have done without but such things are not the fault of the hotel and for a no frills centrally located hotel in Palencia the Don Rodrigo is recommended.

Very clean pleasant modern hotel which has a garage available if needed. Ideal stopover from Portugal to Northern Spain. Very dog friendly. Did not eat there but the food looked good and the Menu del Dia - which is served both at lunch and dinner - was three courses (with choices) plus wine, bread and coffee for 19 Euros which is very good value for a 3 Star Hotel. Palencia is a lovely little town.

El desayuno un poco justo o variado. Ya lo sabíamos por comentarios compartidos. Cerca de todo lo que merece la pena ver y disfrutar en Palencia. El trato/ayuda por parte de todas las personas que trabajan en este establecimiento fue correcto.

Estuvimos un noche en el hotel y la verdad es que todo fue perfecto. Limpieza impecable, cama comoda, desayuno a la altura y personal muy amable, lo recomiendo al 100%. Además está a un pasos del centro de Palencia y pudimos aparcar relativamente cerca.

La habitación del hotel para una sola persona está muy bien, el baño moderno y la limpieza muy correcta. Al personal le falta sonreír al cliente, entre ellos si lo hacen pero luego se vuelven adustos. El desayuno es muy mejorable,los productos son de muy baja calidad, tanto el embutido como la tortilla " prefabricada" incomible( antes estás tortillas solo estaban en lo bares de los aeropuertos, pero ahora abundan) y la guinda del pastel son esas botellas de cristal de Solan rellenadas cada día con agua de grifo saltándose todas las normativas de Sanidad.No se qué pensará la prestigiosa marca de agua de la cual soy consumidor a diario de la estrategia rastrera de este hotel...

Estuvimos comiendo un menú de 36 €, la comida estaba buena y con variedad de platos, algunos un poco escasos, como el bacalao, postres... Para unos platos tan elaborados nos pusieron un vino malísimo tanto el blanco como el tinto, Señorío de Monzón, un vino de 2€ la botella, que debería ser para un menú diario de 14€. Tampoco disponen de comedor aparte, comimos casi en el hall del hotel. Servicio de mesa muy bueno a pesar de que fuese escaso con tan solo una camarera para 25 personas.

El hotel está muy limpio y la habitación impecable. La atención del personal estupenda y la señora que está en la recepción por la mañana muy amable y servicial. Las almohadas si son muy mullidas pero fuimos a recepción a pedir un par más y solucionado el problema. La cama muy cómoda. El único pero es al garaje, muy estrecho y pequeño y las rampas de bajada o subida muy estrechas y con giro muy complicado y estrecho para un coche grande. Yo llevo un Seat exeo que es igual a un Audi A4 y me costó la misma vida maniobrar y salir fue todo un suplicio. No lo recomiendo para coches grandes.
