Palazzo Planeta

Lovely place. Charming host who was very helpful. Kids’ apartment was huge (although slightly noisy from Road). Ours was smaller but really quiet. Really nicely decorated, great information, lovely Planeta wine, excellent recommendations. Really good location as well. All good!

This is a charming place in a great location. The staff went out of their way to assist us. It is clean and well appointed, very comfortable. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us upon check in and wonderful bath products for our use. I would 100% stay here again.

My husband and I stayed for five nights at the Palazzo Planeta and loved it. Would definitely recommend it. Apartment was very spacious with a small kitchen that included a stove, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Excellent location for all that Palermo has to offer. Alessia was delightful to deal with and gave excellent recommendations of where to eat and sites to see in this amazing city. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed in a lovely, spacious apartment on the fourth floor. We were a family of four and had plenty of space. The apartment was impeccably clean, very well equipped, including two bathrooms, kitchen with all appliances, spacious lounge TV, Wi-Fi, etc. Location is excellent – 2 minutes from the Teatro Politeamo and shopping streets, only 10 minutes from Teatro Massimo, and the Vucciara district and 15 minutes from Quattro Canti and Palazzo dei Normani. On street parking outside, although you’ll do well to find a space and private car park with valet parking only one minute walk away. Lots of good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Alessia was super helpful when we made the booking and checking in, giving us tips on where to go and see, etc.

This "place" is put out there as a boutique hotel - and its web site leaves one with that impression! The web site even conveys the impression that the building is on a Piazza. It is is not! This isn't a hotel - let alone a boutique one. It is simply a well-regarded wine maker, with a Pallazo in Palermo, renting out various apartments. The owners have no idea how to really cater to travellers. Just one example. A welcomed washing machine...but then, no dryer! The apartment I was in was poorly and inexpensively furnished. Think Ikea! There is no office to speak of. Any real communication with anyone has to be via WhatsApp. Plaudits to Alexsandro for his help when called on. One BIG plus that is offered is recommending the use of the services of Arianna Patti (tailiormadetour) - a travel-tour designer / arranger. She is tops! ...and well worth engaging.

We traveled with our toddler to this hotel and arrived via car. While driving in Sicily is not easy, the hotel suggested a close parking garage that we were in and out of very quickly. The hotel was in a great location across the street from a long pedestrian lane with some good restaurant/cafe options and food markets. It is a bit of a walk from all of the popular sights in Palermo but it’s only about a 10 min easy walk. The staff was extremely responsive and helpful, even helping us with a few questions we had during our stay…be prepared to use WhatsApp in Sicily, it’s how we instantly communicated with the staff. The wine left for us in the room was a nice touch. Be prepared to supply your own basic necessities (bottled water, paper towel, laundry soap, etc) but there is a market so close that it’s easy. Giada is the cafe right outside the hotel, great spot for breakfast. They also provided crib and bedding for our toddler. Would stay here again!
