Nice property and beautiful rooms. Be aware that traffic noise at night can be an issue - we were woken up by traffic noise on several occasions but not Sure if there are rooms away from the street noise? We asked for 3:00 p.m. check-in but did not get a response. My wife and I arrived about 10 minutes before the standard check-in (4:00pm) but did not get our room until 4:15pm. Front desk staff seemed bored but did comment on us being World of Hyatt members. Bell staff were courteous. We are regulars to Palm Springs (5x/year) and this was your first time at the Thompson. We are on the fence as to a return stay.

This property is so pretty and the staff is fantastic and hospitality is top notch. I love having a newer Hyatt hotel to visit on the main drag of Palm Springs. The property has such a unique architecture and the grounds are so pretty. Can’t wait to come back.

The check-in receptionist was unfortunately dry and not very welcoming, which made for a disappointing first impression. Me and my best friends linked up here we use to be residents here in the valley now we all live in different areas. We are celebrating my late husbands first anniversary of not being here on this trip. The staff was aware of all of this hoping they would have had a more warming touch when we checked in. Two of us are from this valley but now we vacation here. So first impressions are everything. Thankfully, the bellman team, especially Jesse super knowledgeable of the area & is always in good spirit Tom too, completely turned things around with their friendly, helpful, and professional service. They truly made us feel valued and set a much more positive tone for the rest of the visit. We got a 2 queen room facing the mountains & other hotel room. The BALCONY is amazing, so spacious great views. The deco in the room and the lighting is done so well. Has a totally of 4 chairs outside a lawn lounge chair would have been nice touch maybe one. The mini bar is stacked & priced fairly. We headed to the pool, the music was so low I felt like I had to whisper. I asked a few guest around they thought the same. But the team cranked it up a bit and that was awesome! When we found our spots, a gentleman with radiant energy named Josiah asked us how we are doing, what are we here for, the whole shabang. THATS WHAT WE LOVE! He took our order & was so attentive & proactive the whole evening. He gave us a true experience of what a warm welcoming hospitality should be like. We have a friend that does not drink but he didn’t make her feel left out & recommended a non alcoholic drink & she loved it & was able to be part of the “vibe”. Josiah’s enthusiasm is the face of this whole brand. As someone who has worked for Hilton ( Waldorf Astoria ) for 6 years now I write and get to stay in hotels for living he is someone I’d have running the show. We are here for the next few days I must say we are looking forward to the pool everyday. Diana at the pool did a very great job cleaning up after people left so everytime we turned to a day bed it was cleaned and looked so presentable. I think next team meeting have your receptionist have a more warm, positive, attitude & engage more with the guest. A welcome drink would be a nice touch too for the price of this hotel. Josiah you made us keep our reservations here at The Thompson We recommend you rent some bikes & have a good time thar was fun, Charlie the receptionist had a very upbeat energy we wished we got him on our first day. We have a couple more days to hoping we end it with a bang of hospitality to come back.

So far, it has been one of my favorite Hyatt’s ever. I felt like Goldilocks - it wasn't too big (think Regency), or too small. The staff was welcoming (walked me to my room) and the amenties scattered around were welcome. The design includes public and private spaces that are accessbile to everyone. Some of the specific things that I really liked was the Jacuzzi opens at 5 AM. Heaven-coffee, sun rising, view of the mountains! I liked the separation of the pool area from the bar (as well as being on the second floor so it was not next to a road) so that you don’t feel like you’re on display when you’re in the pool. Design in the rooms includes situating the shower on/off so you don't get wet when turning the water on. Attention to detail includes little things like leaving a washcloth in the shower (who hasn't gotten in the shower and forgotton that!) The only thing that I noticed is that there was one bartender who did not have a bar back or any help. However, she had a great attitude and after I mentioned it to management they were appreciative of the feed back and appear to want to address that. The location is perfect-walkable to dining, museums, and shopping with a gorgeous view of the mountains. I did not visit the fitness room so can't speak to that but plan on a return visit.

Endured hours of horrendous noise from early on for the set-up of what I believe was a corporate breakfast. Rustling, loud voices, moving of furniture, general set-up, utilising the store room next to our room as an F&B operations centre. Unable to exit our room easily because it was right up to our door. Then there were loose cables right outside our door which are a health and safety hazard and my aunt almost tripped up on one. It took nine hours for someone to respond to the above issue and offering to move rooms at 8:30PM at night. We did not do this as going to bed. The next day all the same issue from the corproate breakfast was there. Front desk manager Alize gaslighted me at checkout by saying that because my room had multiple rooms, I should have gone into one of the other rooms to get away from the noise. (You could hear the noise in all rooms). They decided to clean the pool and forced me to get out of it after being told the pool is open from 5AM to 11PM (especially annoying when I am getting out of my room to swim and for some peace and quiet because of the horrendous noise from the corporate breakfast inside.). There was a massive fishbone in my breakfast. Manager Pavlo, Pablo Pedro something beginning with a P ignored me when I complained to him about the noise and then 30 mins later I saw him outside of my room having breakfast contributing to the noise (the very thing I complained about in front of him). My points have yet to be refunded, but I have received the Suite Upgrade Award back. While I am grateful for this, I think all of this could have been handled so much better than what felt like just refunding me to shut me up. I received this promise from the Thompson Palm Springs "You’re absolutely right—setting up a corporate breakfast immediately outside a guest room should never happen. This was a misjudgment on our part, and we’ve already escalated this with our events and operations teams to ensure this area is not used again in that manner when rooms are occupied." I hope everyone who reads this can use this to ensure it does not happen again.

Stunning property, with beautiful views of the mountains, excellent food & beverage, great pool, and exceptional staff. Great location as well, with a variety of retail options close by, and quirky local merchants everywhere. Lola Rose is an superb restaurant, a must for all visiting Palm Springs.

Loved staying at the Thompson with my husband and 4-year old. My son loved the pool, the bonfires at night and the games around the hotel like cornhole. We felt super welcome, even though the vibe was definitely more adult than family friendly the staff made our stay really special. The best thing is when the staff who work there seem happy and are friendly and helpful when you're on vacation and the Thompson was definitely that. Also appreciated the valet service, although there was plenty of available parking nearby. The location was also perfect to walk to the downtown and a super quick drive to hiking trails.

Great location. Terrific faciltiies. Friendly and helpful staff. I especially like the balconies off the rooms and the pool area, with bar and restaurant close at hand. The workout room had excellent and up-to-date equipment. I'll be back!
