Holiday Inn Club Vacations Panama City Beach Resort

We arrived on Sunday Sept. 8 to find that the elevator was broken. The manager stated it would be fixed on Tuesday. Both my husband and I are mobility impaired, him with COPD and on oxygen plus Parkinson's and me with severe arthritic knees. We do not easily use stairs. I was 3 sets of stairs to the end level. The manager, Jackie, and staff were very accommodating and placed us in a room on the 2nd level instead of the 4th level we were originally booked. The maintenance staff brought our luggage up. While they were sympathetic and helpful, it did ruin our beach vacation. We could not carry our beach items up and down. Groceries were extremely difficult. We both used canes. We both were in great pain at the end of the day even though we tried to limit our stair climbing to once a day. This caused us to curtail our planned activities. Tuesday came and the bad news was that the elevator could no be fixed without parts. Therefore the entire week was very difficult. The parent company, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, per Federal law, needs to make sure there is more than one elevator and that the existing elevator has the proper maintenance and repair schedule. Now that we are home, my husband has been in excruciating pain due to a sciatic-like condition that developed as a result of stair climbing. The Manager stated she would see if any type of refund or compensation could be had. We asked to be relocated to another facility, that did not happen. The upper level of management beyond the local staff was nonresponsive to our situation. When we checked-out, the maintenance staff carried our luggage to our car.

We loved it! We stayed in a two bedroom villa and we loved having all the extra room. It’s more like a condo than a hotel. Two bedrooms/two bathrooms with a full kitchen. One bathroom even had a small jacuzzi tub. Washer and dryer is a huge plus! Rooms were very clean, smelled wonderful! Beds were comfy and clean! Pool and hot tub were nice. Pool is heated in the winter. Balcony was very enjoyable, directly facing the gulf! Staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay. There’s no breakfast but we never eat hotel breakfast so that didn’t bother us. No coffee (we made our own in the room). I think it would be convenient if they provided some quick pickup breakfast items for people on the go. Like I said before it’s more of a condo than a hotel. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the dampness. I know it’s common in Florida but our tile floors were very wet which made them slippery, so were the counter tops. I mopped the floors and wiped off the counter tops. I didn’t notice this the first day. I only noticed it after I started using the dryer but I don’t know if that had anything to do with it because even after I stopped using the dryer they were still very damp. I have stayed in places in Florida that have dehumidifiers in the room. This is a common problem in most places but this was really wet not just damp feeling.

We stayed 3 nights in room 203. Ten suites per floor, 4 floors of suites. Perfect size. All suites are beachfront and have a balcony with patio table and chairs. Free surface parking, 1 elevator and 3 staircases. Instead of a room key, we were given waterproof wristbands. Tap to enter your apartment instead of digging for a keycard. I liked that. We loved our 1 bedroom apartment. Everything you need for a long stay- full kitchen with lots of dishes, utensils, pots, dishwasher plus soaps and tea towels. The huge bathroom has a washer and dryer, laundry soap, separate room with toilet and tub/shower combo, plenty of thick towels. King sized bed -very comfortable. Lots of storage. There’s a dining room, living room with large sofa and 2 chairs and this leads on to the balcony. I loved watching the waves rolling in and listening to the surf. The weather wasn’t great while we were there so didn’t have a chance to try the pool, hot tub or go for a stroll on the beach. We did drive around to check out the town and the location was perfect for us - far enough away from the busyness at Pier Park and beyond but close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. We both agreed that if we’re ever looking for a place to spend a month and kick back, this would be the place. Loved it!

I think I would've been much happier with this resort if it wasn't falsely advertised. They have it rated as a 4.5 -5 star property which it absolutely is not. there's NO service to speak of. There's one person who sits behind a desk like a motel. you even light your own fire pits . theres a couple of games out for the kids , connect for, etc. I'm unclear why it's categorized as a vacation club. The amenities are minimal. There is a game room on the fifth floor but it's not worth going to. The room furnishings are very islander style. Definitely nothing luxurious, but it was comfortable enough. my bathtub didn't drain each night and the pillows were so high I got a neck ache. They definitely aren't Marriott heavenly beds. Panama City draws a clientele that is less desirable than Rosemary Beach or Santa Rosa Beach witch is driving distance. there were still plenty of families on the beach here . I will be positive and say that the views are absolutely amazing and every room is oceanfront. We stayed in room 203, which was down one flight of stairs to the sand. this property is only five floors high which I loved. there are high risers on either side. the front of the hotel does sit on a busy street, which is worth noting, and the area is nothing that I would feel safe walking around at night. so I am going to say if you expect a three star property, you will be happy. I feel like my review is fair. I did have a wonderful week. I came here with my 13-year-old daughter to kick off the summer. I was incredibly disappointed as I was told. It was a five star property but once I adjusted mentally I was OK. I stayed in a one bedroom. there was massive construction happening at the front of the resort, so check if that's complete if you're coming in June. if you get a good price on the room, it's definitely worth staying here. The hot tub was amazing and piping hot but my issue was there was no check system so anyone can walk in and use the facilities.

The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was always friendly anytime we interacted with them. Every room has an ocean view. Within walking distance of Pier Park. Even though there is Public access to the beach right by, the area by the hotel was not overly busy.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Club for a week in September 2020 and really enjoyed it. The beach is beautiful and not too crowded in this location. The pool is a good size and located so you can still enjoy an ocean view from the lounge chairs. This is a small complex with all ocean front suites, making the perfect location if you are wanting to make sure you have a great view without a lot of crowds. It is reasonable, but not fancy. The staff was polite and helpful. The balconies are pretty small, so don’t expect comfy lounging chairs. You will need to bring your own beach chairs and umbrellas unless you want to pay the exorbitant daily fees to rent them. My only complaint wasn't something that could really be avoided, but there were workers working on building improvements while using a scissor lift. It ruined my time attempting to relax by the pool because they were constantly moving the lift which caused it to beep the entire time they were working. Thankfully this was just one day of our trip.
