Montmartre is an absolute must-visit—full of charm and character—but it can get a bit overwhelming with all the tourists. That’s what makes Hotel Particulier such a hidden gem. Tucked away in the best part of the neighborhood, this exclusive spot feels like a secret escape from the crowds. The service was impeccable—warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The food was a delight: rich in flavor yet surprisingly light, with a fresh, natural taste that lingers in the best way. And the house itself? A total French dream. The interiors are straight out of a Parisian fairytale—elegant, timeless, and full of character.

Overall A experience: secret vintage home hotel, 5 rooms, delightful staff, and homey best hotel treatment of our several Paris hotel visits. Motown, jazz, punk, classical radio player, excellent $1K duck & pollack dinner, view of Eiffel tower, great customer & room service. Only thing we've learned is that the French don't do American cocktails well.

When we arrived, we were made to wait at least five minutes without anyone offering us a seat or taking our coats. Although we booked at the restaurant, we were shown down to the bar where we were the only ones eating. The bar atmosphere was great, but it was rather weird, and no explanation was given. We ordered fish and had to wait 45 minutes for it to be served, although there was no indication that it would take that long on the menu. No bread, olives, or anything small to nibble on was offered to us in the 45 minutes. The food, when it finally arrived, was delicious, and the waitress was extremely kind and apologetic, but the general service was not what one would expect considering the price. We were not hosted properly and were very late for our next appointment. When we left, there was no one to give us our coats, and we had to retrieve them ourselves from some cleaning cupboard. All in all, I am not going to recommend the bar or the restaurant of Hotel Particulier Montmartre.

A truly unique place. Come here every Paris visit at noon on Sunday. They are now serving a lovely Sunday brunch menu. Wonderful food, excellent service. It is in a secluded very private location, hidden behind a gate, must buzz in. Reservation mandatory.

My friends and I went to the cocktail bar of this hotel for some drinks about two weeks ago. It wasn’t my first time there, in fact, I had been going there for several years. Since I had always had a good experience, I decided to let my friends try it as well. Unfortunately, this time the experience was completely different. We were told at the entrance that the semi-basement floor where the bar is located was occupied by a private party, and if we wanted to wait outside in the garden, they would find us a spot upstairs in a few minutes. Unfortunately, things turned out differently. After almost an hour of waiting outside in the cold (it was early January), we tried to prompt the various waiters who occasionally came out of the building... without any response. When we needed to go to the bathroom, we had to repeatedly knock on the door of the venue, as it was locked from the outside, and as if that wasn’t enough, we had to ask for permission to use the bathroom... which, in my opinion, was very unprofessional and unpleasant. After another 30 minutes, they finally moved us inside, to a room at the back, where the waiters made sure not to serve us or ask if we wanted anything else to drink. Lastly, the gin and tonic I ordered was made with the wrong gin (this is the least of the issues). Terrible service and unacceptable treatment in my opinion, especially considering the clientele the place targets. I fully understand giving priority to those who had booked an entire floor for a private party, but this does not give the property the right to treat other customers as if they were second-class. It’s a shame because I had always wanted to stay at the hotel, but after this last experience, I don’t think I’ll be returning.

I felt the food was mediocre for the price. It’s hard to maintain proper etiquette when picking bones out of a piece of fish with a butter knife. Maybe the chef was off and left the sous to take the reins. The servers and the staff were very warm, kind, extremely attentive and very welcoming. The food just fell short

Stayed in suite 5. Very pricy, but we thought it must be very special. Arrived in the evening, the room smelling of mold, wilting flowers, dusty lamps that were not lit and blood red walls, ceiling and carpet. Felt like we arrived at the Adams family house... No fire escape, pretty serious. The room has one attic window that was very grimy. Talked to the manager who was very friendly, but nothing changed. Love the quirkyness and location, but too expensive for what we got.

Magical is the best word I can use to describe the feeling I had during our week stay at Hotel Particulier. It's as if you have stepped into another time, an alternate universe of cool and good vibes that permeates the exquisite yet eclectic decor. I kept expecting to run into Keith Richards or Kate Moss. If you're only into missionary where you're in bed by 9 and get angry at those dang kids who keep the music going until 2 AM - I'd recommend staying somewhere else. This place is for sexy people who love life, high quality, understand some of the best things are between the lines and come to Paris to experience what it has to offer: impeccable taste, gardens to relax in, great food, music in all of the rooms (all have music options + some even have turntables with a curated selection of records), nice people, beautiful furnishings, big comfortable beds, mirrors on the ceiling, bathrooms with heated toilets (game changer) and decor that would make even the most distinguished rockstar or celeb feel right at home. Hotel Particulier - If there's one thing I'd add is a place to hold the shower head so you can stand when you wash in the rooms that only have bathtubs...Otherwise, Please, please, please - when it comes to the vibe you've created - *muah* - It's perfection.
