My wife and I came to Veda5 in Rishikesh for a two week Panchakarma wellness retreat. From the moment we got there we were treated like welcome guests, and at times even like part of the family. Staff, without exception, were attentive, accommodating, and went out of their way to be helpful. Throughout our stay, the management and various staff would approach us checking in to make sure that our treatments were going well, that activities provided to us met our expectations and the dining service was exceptional. And it was! While I will mention a few of the staff by name, my hesitation in doing so is that we will be leaving out staff who also treated us wonderfully. It is just we made some exceptional personal connections with various staff because we happened to be more in their presence. First of all, head chef Devendra approached us at almost every meal, inquiring about our dining experience. He is considerate, attentive, and clearly cooks with love. We took a private cooking lesson from him - great fun to learn more Ayurvedic cooking techniques and to have the ability to take home some of the tastes. He is a true gift to Veda5. I want to mention three of the servers - Bal, Arti and Anurag. Each consistently anticipated our needs and consistently individually approached us to see if there was anything they could do for us and treated us with exceptional care. The highlight of our stay were the spa treatments. My therapist Vivik not only provided wonderful massage and therapeutic treatments, but treated me as if I was a respected family member. As if the whole focus of his day was my well being. Kay’s therapist Munja provided two weeks of wonderful treatments and TLC. By the time we left, we felt like we were saying goodbye to not just our therapists but newly developed friends. The junior doctors were equally as attentive, constantly approaching us, inquiring how we were doing, if we had any concerns about our treatments or needed anything adjusted. But not only this. Throughout our stay, they would greet us with enthusiasm, smiles, and well wishes. We truly felt welcome. Some of the highlights of our stay also included meeting guests from around the world, the intimate table conversations and opportunities to share stories and develop cross cultural friendships. The sunset Poonja provided a sense of spirituality and culture that beautifully accentuated our days. Our rooms were comfortable, and the weather in March was spectacular We will not hesitate to return…..
