Hotel do Bosque Eco Resort

Positive: - variety of foods served at the restaurant. - Super helpful and friendly staff at the restaurant and bars. - Fun activities by the swimming pools. - Beautiful sunsets from the beach in front of the hotel - You can see the macaws flying close to the hotel. Negative: - Check-in staff was clueless about how to charge an AMEX credit card. They blocked my card so I had to call the bank to reactivate it. Then I had to queue again for 1.5 hours to continue with the check in process. Total waste of my time. - very inefficient check in process. There were around 80 people in the reception area trying to figure out where to line up and no one was telling us where to queue. One line for checkin, another for picking up the keys, another for getting the luggage but no signs and no info. Very confusing and frustrating. - people had to wait around 20 minutes to get their luggage out from the storage room. - No consideration for my request. During the booking process I asked to get a room away from the lift to be able to rest. The room I got was right next to the lift!!

The hotel is very easy to acess. The rooms are very cozy. The food is very varied and delicious. And the service of the staff is wonderful.The facilities in general and the amenities are fantastic.The proximity to the beach is formidable.

First the bad: They played very loud music every night until 1am. If you're going there to party then this is the place for you. If you'd like to be asleep before 1 am, not so much. There was an improper lamp placement on the wall above the bed. My husband whacked his head on it the first night and subsequently tied a pillow to it! The water in the shower never got beyond luke warm. Otherwise, everything was fine. The food of course was bland, as all you can eat buffets tend to be. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The location was great, right on the beach. The pools were nice. We mostly used the hotel as a jumping off point to explore areas near by and it was good for that purpose. If I were going for a luxurious stay I would have chosen a nicer boutique style hotel with a spa.

The grounds are very beautiful - lush and tropical. The rooms are EXTREMELY basic - open outside (motel style). No elevator - be prepared to tote luggage up 3 flights of concrete outside stairs. My room had black mold on ceiling and walls. No fridge or microwave in room and only 3 small drawers for storage. There is only 1 restaurant - and opened limited hours. The food is buffet and is actually pretty good. The service is very good! The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. There are 2 pools plus a kiddy pool. Both are very nice. The resort felt safe and the security at the front gate and back beach entrance was very good.
