MMiss LexusAs one of the seven new wonders of the world, Petra not only has temples, monasteries, snake roads, chanting, candlelight, the most expensive ticket (670 yuan), but also the most expensive donkey.
The Treasury
EEva2022A beautiful place. Make sure to allocate enough time for it as it takes a while to hike from the entrance.
Great Temple
LlancanyinzkkAfter leaving the church, I would climb a high slope, where I sat for a little 5 minutes in the awning, adjusted my rest, drank a cup of hot "mint black tea" and continued down. Downward to the magnificent palace, the largest and most magnificent. From the photo below, you can see the royal tomb group, the palace, the upcoming Great Temle and the direction of the road to the monastery. The temple was first discovered by Brünnow and von Domaszewski, but Bachmann identified the existence of the temple in his Petra city plan, as well as Liezhu Street, on the south hillside. Given his assumptions about the existence of the Great Temple precinct and the significance of this assumption in understanding the human history of Petra’s architecture, the site was excavated in 1993, which laid out its remarkable achievements.
Monastery (Al Dayr)
1139***37I had a day trip in Petra to have time to go to this monastery. From the entrance of the scenic spot to this monastery, it is estimated that it will take3-4 hours to walk down without taking pictures. The monastery is in the depths of the mountain. The map mark is 15. I walked nearly 2,000 steps. Some locals use donkeys to carry you up, but they ask for money. And donkeys are not easy to ride, someone fell down, I have a few groups to climb the stairs to half can not climb, everyone should do their best, and down is also tired, the stone ladder is slippery, a bit dangerous, need mountaineering shoes. By the way, this is the shooting location of deformation steel 2, and you must prepare to eat when you want to go to this place. Everything along the way (tourism souvenirs) are made in China.
High Place of Sacrifice
NNickolas Cthe most underrated trail in petra. there are not many crowds and the views are amazing
Petra Museum
Ssarah小piuThe new Petra Museum was completed in 2018 and officially opened in early 2019. It is completely free and is open until 8 or 9 pm in the summer, which surprised us. After entering the gate, there is a service desk on the left, with instructions in three languages, Arabic, English and Japanese. A video is played on the right, explaining the local history. Visitors will not miss the most eye-catching sign, which is that the Jordanian people thank the Japanese people for funding and designing the new museum. The exhibits in the museum are not only local cultural relics in Petra, but also many excavated from surrounding towns. Some cultural relics were just excavated a few years ago. The life and development of the Nabataeans are explained in relatively detail.
Little Petra
YyangniziPetra Petra Jr (little petra,Siq al-Barid) is located six or seven kilometers north of Petra. It is a stone carving city similar to Petra. Although not as grand as Petra, it is also very delicate in details. Because the reputation is not as loud as Petra, and few tourists visit, the quiet environment is more treasure-seeking atmosphere. Mainly the caravan station.
Obelisk Tomb & Bab as-Siq Triclinium.
LlancanyinzkkDjin blocks Not long after walking, I saw the Roman obelisk from a distance. This Roman obelisk is usually mentioned in conjunction with Bab el Siq Triclinium because they stack up and down, but they are two separate stone tombstone monuments. The upper layer of the Roman obelisk is the four typical long pyramid-shaped cones, which represent the spirit and are used in the symbolism of the Nabateans to commemorate the dead. In the middle of the depression there is a worn statue of a man in a cloak who represents the head of the family, the tomb in the tomb room below. The gables below the tomb room, accompanied by benches on three sides, depict the location of the restaurant. Here, a banquet is set up to honor the ancestors.
