Two day holiday at Lago d’Orta on our drive from Turin to Basel. Picked the hotel l’Approdo because of it’s very high rating on Booking. The hotel location is amazing just on the beach on the lake. The room is clean and luxurious and the view of the lake well worth the extra cost. The breakfast was luxurious and offered a huge variety of food for all tastes. The staff were friendly and professional. We loved our stay. The bathroom was clearly not at the same standard but I’m sure the hotel owners will upgrade them in line with the rest of the rooms and hotel. The restaurant seemed a bit pricey so we ended up booking elsewhere. All in all surely well worth a stay!

We stayed at this hotel from 4th to 11th June. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. There is a comment lower down regarding room 308. We had this room and we agreed with everything this gentleman said almost. The air conditioning the lighting in the bedroom inadequate, the key card to get in, water, tea coffee the kettle placed directly under the TV, the lighting in the bathroom the shower we had to put a towel on the floor even my husband also cut himself shaving. We didn't pay for a lake view but our room faced the main road and as the air conditioning did not work we opened the bathroom window to get some air over night but it was so noisy. We also looked out over the roof of the restaurant and the chimney from the kitchen put out awful cooking smells as well. We couldn't sit on the balcony as it was too noisy. We were also overcharged on the drinks bill as were more in our group. As for the barman he was arrogant and the dining room head waiter did not understand a word of English. Other things the taxi the London Heathrow Hotel flights tour guide trips out buses were organised excellently just the hotel. Titan have let themselves down using this hotel.

We spent 3 night at this resort. Our room 207 faced the lake but the view was obstructed by a massive tree. The room is of a decent size and the bed quite large and comfortable. However the bathroom definitely needs updating. The shower is small and has a very slippery floor. Poor lighting and we arrived no toilet paper. The spare toilet paper roll is hidden underneath the sink. The food at the Restaurant is good but the service is poor. We ordered some pre dinner drinks and after about 20 minutes my husband went to look for our drinks. They were ready at the bar and no waiter in sight. The staff is also not clearing up tables once you have finished with one course. Our pre dinner drinks were still on the table when we had coffee!!!! The hotel has ramps inside and wheelchair accessible toilets. But there are no parking spots for disabled customers. All in all - for us no return.

We spent a wonderful holiday in this hotel facing the lake with stunning views. Very helpful and kind staff. The restaurant has a great choice of food and wines and the quality is high, we eated each evening to taste everything! The room is big and well furbished, basic but you have all you need… even free tea and coffee. We Willemstad come baci for sure, we enjoyed the quietness of the lake and the possibility of using kayaks and sup!

We stayed in this hotel for a week and we spent a really pleasant period. The staff was very kind and helpful, good food was served every night, just one evening we had to wait a little longer. Breakfast served in a room right in front of the swimming pool was rich and with a lot of choice. The room is simple but clean and spacious, I just suggest to book a lake side room if you want to enjoy the stunning view. The village is small and the weather was bad, so without a car in this case you do not have a lot to do…

Disappointed with Titan and this hotel. Shower dirty, lots of black mould. Complained and some of it was removed. Safe wouldn’t open Meals very poor, and a long wait. Waiters were surly. Such a shame as hotel is in a beautiful setting. Titan, I think you have seen the last of our custom.

I can never remember having such dire food. This is a 4* establishment supposedly and I didn't enjoy one meal all week. I love Italian food but not the way it is served here. Vegetable lasagne served cold as a starter, ravioli served with no sauce whatsoever, Leek and potato soup. I shall describe this soup. Centimeter cubes of potato filling a large dish with a tiny amount of liquid at the bottom. No trace whatsoever of leeks. Cold roast beef served with a cold splodge of possible wine gravy and cold vegetables. It was horrible. I could go on. Service was dreadful. One person would be served fish, ten minutes later another would be served meat and ten minutes later the veggie option would appear. No table ate together. Inexperienced staff were in abundance and the 'wine waiter' , when asked on the first evening the price of a glass of wine said he didn't know. My room was clean and spacious but very corporate. No character whatsoever. I could have been in any country in Europe. This is a hotel for travellers who wish to stay a night or so, there's little to entertain as it's situated in a village with a supermarket, church and campsites. The lake walk is lovely until you've done it ten times as there's nowhere else to walk. The pool is lovely I have to add. But I came away hungry and frustrated by the poor service in the restaurant.

I went as part of the Saga/titan group. This hotel clearly cannot cope with such large groups. The dining service was incredibly slow. The menu choice for the evening meal had to be chosen when we went in for breakfast and this was very limited. The waiting staff with the exception of a few of the younger ones were incredibly surly and in some cases rude. Our room was ok but there was mould in the bathroom and a rotten musty smell. This hotel clearly needs a total renovation and there is no way it is 4 star. It's only redeeming feature is the situation it is in which is very beautiful
