We recently stayed at Chanalai in Phuket, and overall, it was an okay experience. The hotel is good value if you manage to get it at the right price, but it's important to note that it could benefit from a major update and renovations, as it does feel a bit dated.
The rooms were spacious and clean, but the décor and furnishings seemed a little worn out and could use a refresh to bring them up to modern standards. Despite this, the housekeeping team did a great job of maintaining cleanliness throughout our stay.
The pool area was well-maintained and the beach is across the road via an alleyway. However, some of the sun loungers and facilities around the pool showed signs of age and could use some improvement.
We didnt eat Breakfast. The hotel was friendly and helpful.
The location is a plus, offering easy access to local attractions, beaches, and restaurants, making it convenient for exploring the area.
In conclusion, Chanalai is ok if you get it for the right price. If you’re expecting luxury or modern amenities, this might not be the best option, but for the right price, it offers a comfortable and pleasant stay.

Chanalai Garden Resort is one of the larger/more well-known stays in Kata - many tour pickups and taxi/bolt drivers would immediately know the location.
It is directly next to Kata Beach with many restaurants in its immediate vicinity. A 7-11 is situated conveniently right across the road from the resort too!
There is a pool that serves drinks, a gym and various themed nights for guests to enjoy.
Room is clean and is well-equipped with basic facilities.
Depending on your room type, you may have to walk quite a bit of distance (and its not sheltered from the rain) from the main entrance.
Breakfast wise... honestly not the best in my opinion. My booking did not come with "Breakfast Included" but I thought to purchase for one the days where I had a really early tour. Would strongly suggest visiting the cafe located just opposite the resort for better coffee and pastries for approximately the same price.
Regardless, Chanalai Garden Resort is still a great place to stay with extremely friendly staff and is conveniently located!

Lovely hotel for our family holiday. Just across the road from the beach and with 2 pools on site, we had everything we needed. Good buffet breakfast and lots of places to eat nearby.

Special thanks to reception for being so warm and welcoming even after a delayed flight and arrival post regular check-in time of midnight. They set us immediately at ease and were all exceptionally friendly and professional in spite of the fact that it was already so late.
Rooms were spacious and well kitted out with everything you might need. As it was a special occasion, they also made sure the room had an added personal touch. Thank you!
The breakfast buffet was A+++ and again.. every staff member was lovely and showed genuine kindness and interest in making sure we had everything we needed.
They have 2 pools.we spent most of our time at the big pool on the 4th floor. The barman they had working there was one of the most personable and jovial people I've ever met and pours an excellent drink.
The weather was not great, but the staff made it seem inconsequential.
