Sun Shine Patong

The hotel is conveniently located near the night market, making it easy to find food and go shopping. However, the building is quite old, and the facilities and equipment show their age. On the bright side, the front desk staff are very welcoming and enthusiastic!

The hotel is located on the edge of Patong, a 10-minute walk to the beach and 20 minutes to Jungceylon. The rooms are a bit old. They clean every day, and the staff are friendly. The only major drawback is the monotonous breakfast; it's the same every single day. It's only suitable for short stays, like 1-2 days.

We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights, from February 5th to 11th, 2026. It's a wonderful hotel, even better than we expected! The breakfasts were incredibly delicious and varied. We ate at other restaurants and cafes, and the taste was no different from the dishes served at the hotel. They even had Tom Yum! For desserts, we loved the soft chak-chak and coconut pastries. The salads were tasty, especially the one with sprouted grains. There was an abundance of hot dishes. It's a shame I can't upload a video here. It was a nice touch that the hot milk for coffee and cereal was constantly kept warm in a slow cooker. For fruits, they had watermelon and pineapple. An elderly lady keenly watched, and whenever food ran out, a fresh, full portion was brought out immediately. I wasn't a fan of the coffee, but for me, that's not a deal-breaker. When we first arrived, the girls at the reception called a taxi for us from their own phone. Later, we rented a scooter, and the hotel has a parking lot. We'd ride in with approving cheers, and the porter even helped us with parking. There's a night market just a 2-minute walk away. I highly recommend trying the Thai and Vietnamese food there – it's cheap and cheerful. Several currency exchange offices and tour agencies are nearby; pretty much everything was conveniently located. The room cleaning was good and thorough, we were very satisfied. The room itself was actually very spacious, as you can see in my photos. Regarding the beach – it's far away and quite dirty, but since we had a scooter, we could go wherever we wanted. I guess the hotel is designed for mobile travelers who have their own transportation.

This is one of the better hotels in Patong within its price range. The rooms are clean, smell nice, and are cleaned daily. It's close to civilized streets and a good night market. It's also convenient for exploring the island from Patong by scooter. There are cafes nearby, and sitting on the veranda downstairs is pleasant. As for the downsides, in some rooms, you can practically wave to your neighbor across the way because the balcony doesn't close properly. We even had to call staff to close the curtains because we couldn't do it ourselves, as the curtain rods kept getting stuck. The breakfasts are tasty and even varied, but the sign that says, "Eat everything you take, or face a 2k baht fine" sounds quite aggressive 😆 Overall, this is one of the best hotels we've stayed at in Patong, and if we had to choose, we'd definitely come back here.

The hotel is good, the staff are friendly, and it's clean. The location is perfect, everything is close by. They even play Russian tracks at the pool. The only things I didn't like were the very weak water pressure in the shower and the meager breakfasts. It was the same food every day, and by the third day, I didn't even want to eat it anymore.

City hotel. It's close to the sea, but it's better to walk or drive further north. We were initially given a room without a balcony, but we changed it in the morning. There are tons of shops, currency exchange places, and a night market nearby. I liked the rooftop pool. There's also a gym and a bar where you can eat. Not bad for a short stay.
