Hotels near Laguna Beach, Phuket

We stayed for 2 nights at Movenpick resort Bangtao beach. A family of 5 adults, 4 children and 1 infant. Their 3 bedroom apartment has a big living space for our children to play around and for the adults to have meals. Overlooking the pool and it was a short walk to the pool, lobby and towards the entrance to the beach. Room is comfortable and service is excellent. Very kid friendly but kids club is a little dark. The murals on the walls were hand painted so it was a beautiful kids room. but the television was not working so at times when the kids are tired from playing with the toys, they were easily bored. There wasn't much interactive activities available in there also. There was horse riding right infront of the hotel so it was convenient too. Halal food was abit hard to find. The beach restaurant in front has nice food but we had to fight off many flies the moment the food came and it made our experience a little less pleasant especially with young kids and infant around. The next time we ordered food, we packed it to have in the room to enjoy instead. There wasn't many shops around and we had rented a bike to head to the shopping mall instead. Would have been nice if the hotel provided shuttle service to the shopping mall. Overall, nice hotel but I may not be staying there again next time. Will explore other options.

Hotel has huge territory and spectacular landscapes. We stayed in “pool villa 212”, it had quite old interiors and clean pool. Villa must go to renovation but still in use. Breakfast we visited once, so-so. Nothing in good quality. Great choice. I would not come again to same villa. There are new villas as well…

Unfortunately due to there extra cost of 1000 THB ($42 AU) for cleaning, and the excessive electricity cost of 1480 for ($60 AU) 7 days. This is unacceptable when all they have to do is put up the nights stay. This is a bit misleading in the online booking platform, and should be more clear. The grounds and appearance is extremely good and well maintained. Apartment was very clean but worn down. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Location is out of the way but has a very cute tram on wheels that will transport you anywhere in Laguna including the local beach, but unfortunately it’s a fare walk to Bangtao Beach. Immensities are good.

The reception was slow in attending to our checking. rooms were dated although big. several areas not properly cleaned, like lamps. bed was terribly soft n old. desperately needs replacement. didn't expect this of an angsana hotel. we had just come from the racha where everything was impeccable, and price was similar to angsana. so comparison was very clear. killed a mossie in the room and there was blood on the floor, which was not cleaned for the remaining 2 nights we were there. disappointing with maintenance n upkeep. had to keep asking housekeeping for top up of mossie pads and essential oils for the burner.

New hotel, everything is clean, modern inside. We lived in a room with access to the pool where no one else swam except us, you could say that we had our own private pool 😄 A huge minus for the beach. People go to swim in the ocean, well, arrange the beach: organize sun loungers, help so that at least tents with drinks are on the beach, I'm not even talking about the shower. Crossing a small road is not a problem. The problem is when you crawl through garbage to the beach and there is nothing at all, nowhere to eat, nowhere to buy water. We were very disappointed with this. It's good that we had a car and we went to other places. Those who like to lie on a wild beach will like it, this is also an advantage that there are no people and somehow more private, without crowds, but comfort and convenience are also very important. A huge minus for this. The shower was installed outside when we were already leaving. I didn't really like that after the beach, in the sand and a swimsuit, you have to go through the reception where new guests are checking in. I found the breakfast very meager compared to other 5-star hotels. The breakfast here is definitely not 5-star. We weren't hungry, but there was very little variety in the food. I would like more fruit, more different juices. Lots of spicy Chinese food, it's kind of strange to eat it for breakfast. The hotel is located very far from everything. I don't recommend it without a car or a moped. There is a transfer for those who don't have transport, it goes at a certain time, I don't know how convenient it is to be tied to a transfer by time. As a result: I would come back here only after they arrange the beach (open at least a few decent restaurants, install showers, install sun loungers for hotel guests) and finish all the jambs, finish the construction, and only if I have my own transport. I wouldn't go here without transport. About the construction: We practically didn't hear it. Sometimes there was a knock, not critical. Not all locations in the hotel are working. But opening a hotel during construction is strange. The price could have been lower considering all the shortcomings. The hotel is more like a 4-star hotel, but definitely not a 5-star yet.

Hotel nice and clean. Full equipped in the spacious room. There are swimming pool, shuttle boat, play room for kid and relaxing places. Shuttle boat can access to the beach.

The reason we booked this hotel was because on their website it states that they are close to the airport. That is an untrue statement that they are making on their website. It took over a half hour to get To the airport & they made it sound like they were 10-15 minutes away, which is not a true statement. That was very disappointing. Other than that, the hotel was very nice, food average, the staff was very pleasant,and helpful. They did do an extra charge if you get a taxi from them, versus getting your own taxi, and that would be cheaper so be careful about that. The language barrier is a little difficult. They try very hard but it still is a bit of an issue.

We had a delightful stay at Laya Resort. The hotel's aesthetics were truly stunning, and our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, offering friendly and polite service throughout our visit. While the location was a bit distant from popular tourist spots, we found the peace and quiet refreshing after busy days exploring the area. The only drawback during our stay was the limited variety in the breakfast offerings; the meal was repetitive and we got tired of it after a few days. However, we understand that the hotel is new and still building its clientele, which might affect the range of options they can provide. In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Laya Resort and would recommend it to others looking for a tranquil, beautiful place to stay, as long as they don't mind a bit of a commute to explore the city's main attractions.

Everything was great. The staff was very nice, the room was bright, spacious and clean and the food was delicious. They offer a free shuttle to and from the beach but only a drop off at boat avenue (shopping and food area nearby). My only suggestion would be, add a pick up at boat avenue. Younger guest, as I, don’t mind the walk back but elder guest might appreciate that easy pick up without having to pay for a taxi or grab.

Hello. I was on holiday with two children in this hotel. You can skip breakfast, flies fly at breakfast, there is practically nothing to eat if you like European breakfasts. The rooms are very comfortable, almost like a full-fledged apartment. If you need rooms like apartments, then you can choose this hotel. Also not far if you need a beach this hotel is also not quite suitable, since there is no transfer to the beach, you need to go yourself. I advise only if you need an apartment at an affordable price in the Bang Tao area
