The staff are friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately the room assigned to us was for disabled guest i guess , room spacious , clean but the room smelled of urine. I cannot pinpoint where the smell was coming from but i think its either the bed or the duvet. We did not bother to ask the staff for us to relocate rooms or change beddings because we arrived very late at 3am. We eere tired and sleepy so just slept on it and the following day we were rushing to get ready to attend a wedding. When we arrived at night for our second night stay, we were dis appointed that our room wasn't cleaned. We did not have clean cups and coffee to make. This was a bad experience for us staying in a premiere inn hotel.

We found the staff very friendly and helpful staff. Good level of basic comfort and cleanliness. Very convenient location for visiting Pickering and North Yorkshire. Outside tables are very good in warm weather for having a drink and meeting friends.

Useful location. Reasonable walk into the town. Good road links. Staff were all friendly and approachable. Room clean and quiet. Some good walks locally. Def visit Helmsley - very handsome town and lovely shops. Room good size and reasonably priced. Standard PI but that’s no bad thing.

First time staying at Pickering. Couldn't believe how popular/busy it was. The staff were so helpful, the rooms felt almost brand new and food was lovely. We will certainly be back again. Was prompted on arrival to book for dinner and we are glad we did as the restaurant was busy. This didn't affect the standards though as we eneded up deciding to eat again on the second night.

Just a one night stay to visit the railway. Check-in is now self service and don't forget to register your vehicle separately. We had a standard room at the back of the hotel, which was nice and quiet and out of the evening sun. The air-conditioning was fine at this time of year but as it only goes down to 19 degrees, it would be inadequate in the warmer months. Gone are the Hypnos beds to be replaced by Silent Night. I never had a good night's sleep with Hypnos but the alternative isn't much better. The problem is the size of the double bed. Even King size is old hat these days. Super King is the way forward with two large twins that can be either used as such or zipped together to form a super king. They really need to get with it. Wi-fi could be greatly improved and should be free, top quality, high speed for all. I'm also not a fan of the shower over the bath combo. By all means have some rooms like that, so that you can have a good soak after a hard day. You have to realise and accept that this doesn't suit everyone and a walk in shower only, would benefit many people. Drinks prices are astronomical. Those are the obvious improvements that need to be made. Having said that, it sufficed for our one night needs but I wouldn't want to stay for longer as it is.

A recent Premier Inn, out in the sticks a bit which means that you are relatively reliant on their catering offerings if you want to have a drink. Hotel itself was OK due to newness, and staff did what they could to make up for deficiencies with 'the system'. Good breakfast. However, checking process was a farce - the queue was all but out of the door as the self-service machines were all inoperable and they would not allow people who had arrived before 3pm to check in - hence the queue built up between 2.30 and 3pm. Staff levels seemed on the low side meaning that evening service was slow Whilst breakfast was good the evening meals were something of a disappointment and the drinks choice was very limited

Unable to have an evening meal as 1st night they had no space and second night there was a shortage of food in the kitchen. Also some items missing/ not available at Breakfast and coffee machine broken Poor experience of the normal standards I've had in the past from Premier Inn

Fabulous location for a hotel. Within half an hour of Whitby, Scarborough, robin hoods bay, York but best of all you can walk into lovely Pickering in 10 mins. Have stayed here a couple of times now and always have a good stay. It has a nice restaurant and supplies the usual superb premier inn brekkie 😀
