Great place in Pingyao. It is reasonably priced, a bit out of the very center (meaning also out of tourists crowds that can be quite noisy in the evenings and mornings), but still close, has same old-style design as the more popular and well-established places that cater to foreigners, but priced twice as much. Pick-up and drop off service is provided - just contact the hotel in advance via phone using the reception of tour previous hotel - no one speaks English - it will solve your communication issue if you do not speak Chinese. At the place itself everyone is very eager to help - use your phone app to translate. Onwer helped me to buy tickets to Pingyao attractions and Terracota Army as I was heading to Xian next (available only through WeChat Pay that is in turn is not availablefor foreign tourists as of April 2023). If you go to Shuanglin temple, be sure to ask to buy tickets through WeChat for you as well. I was able to buy physical one by pure compassion of local guard who asked the staff to open ticket office just for me (Probably was the only foreigner in Pingyao at a time). Please also note that as of April 2023, the reconstruction works in the historical city parts are continuing, so, large chunks of the city within the walls are not looking as great as it could have been. The very center of the city is mostly untouched though and you can still come and explore. If going in spring, be prepared for the temperature swings. I got a temperature drop from 28C to 3C within 2 days by the moment I got to Pingyao. It was even snowing at night.

Really love the hotel’s a**osphere. It is cool both scenery and weather. There aren’t much noice and people around the hotel, a little walk and you will reach some of the tourist’s attraction. Some employees can speak english or if not, wechat is the best help. They also booked taxi and drop us off by the taxi, the service was wonderful. Will stay here again if there’s a chance of visiting.

Affordable, very local, good service, train pick-up service, good location, at the South Gate, convenient for watching the South Gate light show at night, close to the main attractions such as City Tower, Confucian Temple, City God Temple, County Government, and South Gate City Wall. I will recommend it to my friends in the future.

The room is not big, but it is very unique. It is a renovation of a historical building. The main thing is to feel the stay. The hotel is in the scenic area. The car needs to be parked in the large parking lot. If you don't have much luggage, you can walk to the hotel. If you have luggage, the hotel will send a small electric donkey to pick it up. I would like to mention the hotel's restaurant in particular. The decoration and dishes are very unique. It is a rare meal.

I took my kids out to play and stayed at Yunjincheng Mansion. It is a very good hotel. Before I came, the housekeeper Juaner contacted me and sent me some travel information. She was very considerate. She indicated the route on the day of check-in. In order to consider the traffic jam problem for the guests, she arranged staff to pick them up in advance. The journey was smooth. The staff took the luggage throughout the journey. I was very satisfied. The service is really the ceiling of the hotel. The room is clean and sanitary, the facilities are complete, and the dean is very unique. A vibrant hotel.

A perfect place to stay! The inn was really beautiful, ideally situated quite close to the north entrance and the old city attractions. The breakfast was simple and good, the welcome gift was really appreciated ! We got a free room upgrade and the room was definitely perfect, all traditional with a kang and still really modern amenities ! Definitely recommended !

Travel with parents. Choose the most distinctive hotel in Pingyao. The decoration is unique and the photos are beautiful. The breakfast is very rich. The front desk staff is also very enthusiastic. They helped to call the car and tour guide of Pingyao Ancient City. It is convenient to go anywhere. It is also close to the ancient city. It makes the trip to Pingyao easier and more enjoyable. I am very satisfied. I will choose this hotel next time I come to Pingyao. It is very good

The boss asked us to park at the Xiaonanmen parking lot and picked us up there. It was very close to the homestay, and it only took 5 minutes to walk there. There was also a fried cake vendor next to it. We bought it for breakfast the next day and it was delicious. We didn't buy a pass for the entire Pingyao Ancient City because we were already living in an ancient house. We specially chose a separate courtyard. Once the gate was closed, there were only us, and it was very quiet. The big kang room was also very interesting, and you must experience it once. Although it takes 10 minutes to walk to South Street, I was a little tired and couldn't find the north on the first day I arrived. I felt that I had walked a long way. The next day I went to South Street for shopping and eating and felt that I arrived in a short while. The boss also gave us discount coupons for several popular restaurants. The boss's wife also specially sent us vinegar in the evening, saying that it was brewed from real grains and not blended.

Good experience in this boutique Hutong hotel in Pingyao . The room is big and extremely comfortable , the breakfast is in a local style , the cleaning is fine and the architecture is amazing . Really easy to get from the central train station and inside the ancient city.
