We stayed at the Elsewhere North Gate hotel for 1 night during our visit to China from Liverpool, England.
Easy to find and walk to from the North Gate entrance of Pingyao.
We were able to check in early, and our hosts were very helpful in making us feel welcome and provided advice and recommendations on where to eat and go during our stay. We did the castle walls, my tip is to take some water.
The room was modern and clean with plenty of space. Nice hot shower and plenty of free accessories too, which was helpful eg toothbrush and paste, snacks and coffee.
The location is about 2 minutes from the main street in Pingyao too.

We had an excellent stay at Elsewhere Hotel Inn North Street Branch. Location was very convenient : we could park the car nearby (at the north gate parking) and the hotel was nearby all main attractions (walking distance). The boutique hotel is nicely decorated, taking the best of the old building with modern twists, and the rooms are located around beautiful courtyards. The staff was very helpful (excellent restaurant recommendations and support to purchase the ticket to visit the old town). We had a great stay and can only recommend you passing by this small jewel in the heart of Pingyao!

Alice and everyone at the hotel are so lovely, extremely attentive and took care of our needs. We received a crash course from Alice how to tour the inner city, making our short stay in Pingyao effective and visiting all the key scenic spots with ease. The hospitality from everyone is the best I have experienced in a very long time. Thank you for making this such a lovely trip stay for us in Pingyao ❤️.

The hotel is located at the north gate of the ancient city and is quite comfortable. The environment is very good, clean and sanitary.
The staff are warm and sincere, always with a smile on their face. When we first arrived at the inn, we were given a map and recommended attractions. We missed breakfast one morning and were kind enough to reheat our food.
When we left the hotel, we were given some special souvenirs from the ancient city. It was a very good accommodation experience!
