Hotels in Inside Pingyao Ancient City, Pingyao

This is truly a hidden gem in Pingyao Ancient Town. The facilities and service are comparable to, or even better than, a major hotel! Be sure to book in advance if you're planning on a holiday! The owner added contact information and sent us information about the location, parking, and even provided pick-up and drop-off services. So thoughtful! During check-in, he patiently explained the key attractions in the ancient city and recommended great restaurants! If you're looking to take photos of the ”young wives” of Shanxi merchants, this is a must-do! The free outdoor locations are fantastic! The amenities provided in the room are all disposable and clean! The toilet water heater is also a reputable brand, so there's no need to worry about safety issues! Highly recommended to anyone staying in Pingyao!

We had a wonderful stay here. They offer a complimentary pick up from the station and the driver was easy to find holding a flag outside the station. The Hotel is in a great location for exploring the old city. Our room was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable with an option of both hard and soft pillows. The towels were lovely and soft too! Also complimentary fruit juice and a fruit bowl. The staff were amazing, especially the staff at the front desk. Very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They organised a driver to take us to the Wang Family Compound for a very reasonable fee. We even got a present when we booked out. It is a great place to stay! !

The hotel is housed in a beautifully preserved historic building. The room I stayed in was comfortable, clean, and pleasant. The inner courtyard, with seating areas and where breakfast is served, is charming and gives the impression of stepping back in time. The location is excellent as well, just a 5-minute walk from the most touristic part of the old town. Breakfast is Chinese style and, personally, I found it a bit weak, but that doesn’t take away from the charm of the hotel.

Beautiful hotel very well situated in the heart of Pingyao; even more beautiful at night ! the owners are very nice, and the room was big. Note that People come to take pictures in the hotel and sometimes in front of your hotel room.

Staying at Xingshengjiu Courtyard Hotel was truly the best decision! The 24-hour butler service makes you feel at home. After placing an order, a butler will contact you to send you the parking location, and a ferryman will be sent to pick you up upon arrival. Upon arrival, all the front desk staff were also very welcoming, making it feel like home. It's not far from South Street, a street known for its Ming and Qing Dynasties, just a five or six-minute walk away. The courtyard is also very beautiful, with an antique quadrangle. The room is modern and fully intelligent, with many details taken into consideration. During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival, the room also gave us a fruit plate with local handmade mooncakes. In short, coming to Xingshengjiu Courtyard Hotel in Pingyao was the most perfect trip of this trip. I will definitely choose this hotel next time I come!

This hotel is not to miss, it is very beautiful with traditional style. We stayed in a beautiful room with the traditional Kang Bed (which was much more Comfortable than we thought actually), it was totally quiet at night and thanks to blackout curtain we didn’t wake up too early. The owner offered us a bottle of vinegar and he also wanted to take us to the train station for free. Actually we booked another hotel with a “normal” bed for the other days in Pingyao but we regretted a lot. We paid much more to struggle sleeping because of nonsense modernities of the other hotel with intelligent amenities making noise and light in the room. So, it is much better to keep your budget and stay in this perfect hotel. The only “downside” is the toilet without wet/dry separation but honestly at the price you pay to stay in a great place like this, it’s totally ok.

I have mixed feeling about this inn. The reason I booked this place is because of high rating and its location in the old town. The service is really good. The reception lady come meet us and guided us to the Inn. There are shuttle bus take you from certain appointed gate to their inn, however we waited more than 30mins for this service where I have expressed my complaint. The front desk lady has redeemed herself by offered me a room upgrade, which is very nice. One thing I would like to point out is, there are lots of steps up down the courtyard due to the historical nature of the building style, it’s not easy to lift large suitcases. Then there is photography service which last till 10:30 to 11, would suggest you book a quite inner court room. Apart from these, I am happy with the service and it’s a beautiful inn.

Lovely stay in the heart of Pingyao We really enjoyed our time here. The hotel has a lot of character, fits perfectly with the historic atmosphere of Pingyao, and everything was clean and comfortable. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and the location is excellent for exploring the old town. The only small point is that the breakfast is not very suitable for Western tastes, but we fully understand this and it didn’t affect our overall positive experience. Would happily stay here again.

We had a good experience staying here. They were patient with our lack of ability to speak Chinese and we’re prepared to communicate through translation apps. The room was well accommodated and clean. Bottled water was provided and a traditional Chinese breakfast was available each morning. If you need your coffee in the morning to get started, you will need to bring your own or is it one of the coffee stands throughout town. The hotel is on one of the Backstreets next to a park and requires about a five minute walk to get to the main shopping streets, but as result is also quiet. thanks for a great day.

We traveled as a family of five to Pingyao and stayed three nights at the Jinxuan hotel. The stay was an absolute delight, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful with everything. They picked us up from the train station which made it very easy to find a place. Jinxuan it’s located in the very heart of Pingyao and everything is easy to reach on foot. The facilities are simple and clean, the rooms are located in a very quiet patio of one of the traditional houses in in Pingyao. We stayed in a duplex room that offered lots of space for a family. The breakfast is traditional Chinese and the hosts spoiled us on the last day with some homegrown corn and tomatoes. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, we can absolutely recommend this place.
