3rd visit to these family apartments and it ticks all the boxes for a great stay We had a one bedroom apartment and could not fault it with an abundance of clean towels & clean sheets during our two week stay The pool bar also ticks all the boxes for a drink or snack during the day with the snacks made freshly. There is a lot of returning customers so we are not alone in our views

I booked this holiday last minute at an extremely competitive price. It was the first time I had traveled on my own and I was looking for somewhere friendly with a relaxed atmosphere-I certainly found it! Orla could not have been more welcoming-anything I needed, she sorted, I also met another lovely Irish woman, Pauline, and together they had all the local knowledge on the best places to eat and beaches to visit. They could also recommend trips off around the island. Despite planning on seeing all of the island, I didn't go too far from the village as the company was so good. Let me be clear, if you want a luxury holiday , don't book here. But if you want a base to explore from, or a pool to relax by with a beautiful view, fabulous hospitality and unending local knowledge from Orla and her husband Manos, all at a very reasonable price, then I would definitely recommend Frida . A return trip is definitely planned for me!

I particularly chose the Piskopiano area as I've travelled that part of Greece - Crete, plus it was my birthday treat. My flight was a late one, arriving at 11pm. I was concerned about how I'd enter the apartment. Manos - manager kindly emailed prior arrivel, felt reassured with instructions. Apt 106 was particularly large, with an extra single and one double bed to choose from. Kitchen dining area all amenities, plus water. Lovely verander attached good size bathroom. Very clean place. Outside breakfast area with adjacent pool. Paulina and Orla - Irish happy people with willingness to help with lots of local information. The village is set on the hills' beautiful and idyllic place to explore. Beautiful scenery day and night. Options to walk to various towns and beach areas . Good walking shoes advised . The weather was amazing. Lots to book in advance, i.e., quad biking, etc. Highly recommended. I love this place. Thank you for your hospitality.

My personal Frida village in Crete experience: We arrived in the afternoon and we were greeted by Orla. We found their being a problem with the electricity as soon as we arrived. Orla and Manos at first seemed helpful and seemed like they were happy to help at the start of our stay. The pool was pleasant and the view was nice. I appreciated there being good cooking supplies. The location was good since the beach wasn’t too far and you had to walk uphill for 5 - 10 minutes to find some local shops and restaurants. I really appreciated a small supermarket across the road from the hotel that had everything you would need. The cleaners did the job well at changing the bins and cleaning the rooms regularly. However that’s all I really have to say that’s positive I found it really strange how you couldn’t order food after 4pm. What if someone has had a really long journey and they really need some dinner and they’re exhausted? At the bar Orla and the other guy who was working there are more friendly to those who are ordering drinks at the bar all afternoon and all night and will engage well with them but not to those who choose not to. By the end of the holiday my thoughts of Orla had changed also because my Dad needed help with something and she didn’t seem interested at all which I thought was so rude. I thought the noice level was ridiculous because at like 10-11 at night when I’d be trying to sleep all I could hear is music playing and people partying. Not everyone wants to hear it, some people really need their sleep and not everyone wants to be partying all night. But that wasn’t all that prevented me for sleeping well. We chose to pay for 1 unit of aircon in my mom and dad’s room since we didn’t want to spend too much extra when it shouldn’t have been necessary. We thought one unit of aircon would be enough if we opened my mom and dad’s bedroom door so I could catch some cool air by the sofa bed which was where I slept, but it clearly wasn’t enough because it was boiling in the night and I was unbearably hot and uncomfortable. I also think it was unfair that you had to pay extra for units, especially in an area that’s really hot and other hotels literally provide it or include it in the main cost of the hotel. Another thing that affected my sleep was the beds. They were rock hard! They were so uncomfortable so I was really lacking in sleep during the holiday and it actually ruined it for me because I was so tired for most of my holiday which my parents paid for so we could all have an enjoyable and relaxing week away. The electricity wasn’t the only problem we had with the room. Sadly the shower tap got stuck in the middle of our stay and they didn’t get anyone to sort it properly so we couldn’t even have a hot shower. I’d recommend this hotel if you are someone who enjoys views, staying by the pool all day, enjoys drinking and partying till very late and a very rustic environment. Unless those are your preferences I definit

We have booked to return next summer as they are nearly fully booked which tells a story. Would certainly recommend 200%

Just returned from 10 days here, our second stay. It was lovely being back. It’s so nice when you arrive and greeted with a smile. Had breakfast one day which was really nice and lunch on one occasion, again very nice. Spent more time this year round pool before heading out, it was lovely and peaceful and always able to get a sunbed. Orla and Manos are lovely hosts, always really friendly. Room was lovely with an amazing shower (room 303 by the pool). Really comfy beds, I think these were new mattress’. A single bed was also in the room which was equally comfy to just leg out on to cool down and sofa really comfy. The room is cool and doesn’t get sun but still needed air con as the temperatures were in the 30s and high 20s on a night. During the day, a dip in the pool was welcoming; pool was very clean as were all the grounds. Would definitely recommend a stay at Frida.

My friend and I stayed for a week and had a 1 bedroom apartment each. I was in 116 which had a nice private patio area and sea view in the distance. Air con was very good (55 euros for the week) but it is only in the bedroom. Manolis showed us to our rooms and helped with luggage. Rooms were clean and spacious. Cleaned regularly. We preferred thr smaller, quieter pool at the front of the hotel. Thr music (radio) was too loud for us around the main pool which was a shame. Always managed to get a sunbed. Bookshelf to borrow books from. Excellent location. Small supermarket opposite and taverna next door. 5 minutes uphill to village. 20 minutes walk down hill to Hersonisos and 8 - 10 euros for a taxi back. We walked to Old Hersonisos village (20 minutes) which is lovely. 10 euros back in a taxi. Enjoyed our stay.
